@Kevin Dazed, or those monster cis vessels. Still though, a larger vessel could hold a larger AGU, up to a certain point, so I don't quite understand what forward momentum would gain them other than perhaps saving space and energy. All the ships likely have propulsion to propel them and stop them in space, so maybe using propulsion systems to take off instead of AG would be more efficient? Then again, they could still take off vertically via propulsion like a harrier jet, though with the extremely long ships that would be less than ideal
Perhaps larger ships require forward momentum before vertical lift begins in order to help compensate for some of the weight by aiding the generation of lift with speed.
