Ain’t this the damn truth
@megamanx181x, And this is why I’m doing community college.
@megamanx181x, I always ticked the option to not share my parents income. Because that exists. And you can tick it.
@megamanx181x, no. It’s not. I grew up actually poor with many siblings. So did my wife. We got maximum aid, because we actually had no choice. If Fafsa didn’t give you maximum aid, good for you. Your parents made something. Maybe they should have put it away for you.
@Child Slapper, unfortunately not everything works out that way, we had made to be comfortable but not enough to be anything away to pay for college. Ultimately that fell on me to get a small loan, not everything is that simple just cause you have some money
@megamanx181x, if you “made enough to be comfortable” that’s the issue right there. The families that struggle end up nearly homeless. You never had to worry about that. Your family made money, and didn’t save for your college over the course of your life in tax-free plans. Check out Dave Ramsey and you’ll see how much money was wasted.
@Child Slapper, look we were barely middle class and I am a first generation American from Mexican parents. They paid my tuition to have me go to private schools my entire life while living within our means. I don’t fault them for not knowing how expensive it is since they didn’t go to college. It would have been nice if I got some financial aid instead of working nearly full time to do 12 units a semester and pay my own expenses. I managed to finish on time when the recession happened and I lived off unemployment while I maxed out my units taken. I don’t believe they wasted any money cause we didn’t live frivolously but you sound resentful and seem to be painting me with a broad brush. I’m really sorry you struggled growing up cause my father literally came from a dirt poor background in Mexico.
I mean im broke as heck and financial aid grants are paying half my tuition, but im also going to a state college and its not out of state and im not dorming... because im broke
@Fightin First, same
If only there was a way to allocate more money to federal scholarships
@Captain Anderson, there is. Shoot all the poor people using welfare programs than boom free money for other stuff
@BigJohnson86, and then eat them
Damn, they get two or more toppings?? Shove it in our faces, why don't you!
@SWAT the fireman, yeah, they probably get the cheese stuffed crust, too! F*cking rich a$$holes...
Friendly reminder that college prices have only skyrocketed because of government involvement 💙💙💙
@McWes, actually there's truth to that. Like Insurance, they raise the prices on those who don't have it to offset the smaller profits on those who do.
@McWes, I respectfully disagree. it's simply supply and demand. Just like how these new phones are $1,000, they charge what they want because people keep buying. Why would they charge less if year after year they have consistant increase of customers?
Please stop reminding me of my real life
I see your parents splurged on the guac at that Mexican restaurant..... ok....
This year I'm finally old enough to file for FAFSA without using my parents information!
