There must be some mistake, Sam was worse than Ron?
@Bens03, The speeches oh God the speeches!!
@IdeasAreHard, At least Samwise had speeches. I thought Ron was there to say "bloody hell" the entire series.
@Sploosh, yea but they went just speeches, they were long whiney boring speeches
@IdeasAreHard, "not if I stick you first." That badass line mean anything to you?
@Bens03, Sam never ran away like a little b!tch because he thought frodo was sleeping with gollum!
A) some of these comparisons leave a lot of stuff out, eg about 95% of gandalf's power. B) considering LOTR pretty much defined the fantasy genre, it kind of automatically wins. My diploma from Killjoke University is right here on the wall.
@YUNoJump, so much yes
@YUNoJump, It also neglects to mention that Dumbledore let Snape kill him.
@Ted Mosby, yeah, I think that's a better death tbh...
The reason for Death Eaters being better than Nazgul was dumb
@Vesrox, yes but being beat by a grammar loophole was funny as hell
@Vesrox, yeah...Nazgul were way cooler than death eaters, considering one Nazgul was enough to terrify a whole garrison of hardened veterans. And it wasn't just the loophole, Merry happened to have a weapon created specifically to battle the Nazgul, and he stabbed the Nazgul first - at least in the book. It's kind of an obscure detail but it is canon.
@Katpee, yeah that's something I always bring up when people talk about how the witchking died. Also the biggest things the death eaters ever did (as far as I can remember) was burn a camp outside a quidditch stadium and help infiltrate the ministry of magic.
@Vesrox, I do love Harry Potter and all, but the Death Eaters are some of the least effective henchmen I've seen in any universe. I mean, they struggled to subdue a group of kids equivalent to high school sophomores, who at best had only basic combat training (which was above the average student at least) and zero combat experience (except for Potter). Seriously - 'nuff said; Death Eaters barely compare to Nazgul. It's like trying to seriously compare a douchey hick in the KKK to a seriously scare mo' fo' from the SS. They're just not in the same league
@Katpee, I think it's worth mentioning though, that in a crossover universe I think the Patronus charm would probably be an effective weapon against Nazgul - whether it actually harmed them or just scared the bejeezus out of them....
Sam wasn't given the "magic light bulb". He was given the elven rope, wasn't he?
I love both but Honestly LOTR should have won all of these
Sorry but Sam is way better than Ron. His speech at the end of Two Towers in amazing. Tolkien actually said that Sam was the real hero of the series, as he had to be strong for Frodo who was weakened by the ring
I haven't even looked at this but obviously, out of the two, star wars wins
@Basil Fawlty, Are you kidding me? Have you even READ A Song Of Ice And Fire?
@TheJibbler, yes actually. I was just referring to another big movie series that's been compared like in this pic. Twas a joke. Plus SoIaF is a book series. And I know it's a show too I've watched it all😑
@Basil Fawlty, I have absolutely no clue if you're joking or legitimately didn't realize I was extending the joke.
@TheJibbler, I had no clue either lol
Sauron's followers also included legions of thousands of orcs and monsters, enough to wipe out Voldemort and Hogwarts combined.
I love both series but LOTR defined and created the worlds of fantasy. Lotr by default and Harry potter as a close second
Clearly Star Trek won this one,Kirk rules!
Sauron and Voldemort arent even. Sauron wins, hands down.
Well that was extremely selective
Oh come on the nazgul are pretty awesome death eaters have nothing on them. And gandalf can does a lot more in the books
@RebelWithoutaCause, also, they dont even mention the fact that saurun isnt even the greatest evil, or that he is basically a fallen angel.
Dumbledore was awesome in Xmen
No one else notice that for third person "Abilities" were named "Henchmen"?
