This always bums me out, because I've always thought the DC comics were way better, DC superheroes origin stories were more original, and the DC villains are muchhh more interesting than marvel villains. The only marvel superhero with good villains is spiderman. But marvel just beat DC to the punch with the cinematic universe, so now people think marvel is better, which I completely disagree with.
@Sappy Poop Stain, facts
@Sappy Poop Stain, I mean, it’s not like Marvel really beat DC to the punch. Batman and Superman movies have been around forever. Marvel just figured out how to make fun and exciting movies, and more importantly did so without rebooting every franchise over and over. Once DC gets that figured out they’ll be able to compete just fine.
@Scuzzinator, not every franchise. Just Spiderman and Hulk. For real, though. DC has had good films. The Dark Knight trilogy was spectacular, aside from Rises. But then they made MoS, and it was so blah, and they decided that would be the jumping off point for their whole big endeavor. Weak sauce.
@Sappy Poop Stain, I mean, the main problem is that their first attempts at expanding their universe were Batman v Superman, Suicide Squad, and Justice League. If any of those were even, like, semi-redeemable movies they’d be serious competition
Also their actors for Batman and Superman are not even involved anymore which is really not how you want things to happen
@Scuzzinator, both franchises have been making movies forever, I was just saying marvel beat them to the punch with the shared universe. And like Berntley said, marvel reboots franchises just as much. They weren't the first to make fun and exciting superhero movies, they were just the first to make a large, shared universe with all their heroes
@Sappy Poop Stain, I would argue that 90% of DC's good villains come from batman
@Sappy Poop Stain, I completely disagree with everything you just said
@Sappy Poop Stain, I feel the main problem with the dccu is that for the longest time nobody could agree on where to take the movies, some wanted as dark as you can get while others wanted fun and light, dark works for some characters like Batman but it doesn't work for Superman, then there was that whole thing with Zack Snyder (I think it was him) who basically insulted the Batman fans by saying they live in a fantasy world if they think Batman wouldn't kill, and what's truly sad is it seems like they finally know what to do but it's right after losing their Superman and Batman so they're gonna have to reboot a fee movies if they want to go forward
@InsaneWorm, bro I was there. Zack believes in Batman and Superman more than you can imagine. He never insulted the fans, he honored the characters, if people can't get behind that then they aren't really fans.
@open name, the reason they aren't involved is because WB tried to reroute Zack's universe into lala marvel land where everything is a joke. Both Henry and Ben believed in Zack's vision, watch any interview from MoS or BvS.
@Sappy Poop Stain, agreed. I find the stories and characters of DC more compelling but the MCU has literally made history and feels like it has had an even bigger pop culture impact than DC has thus far.
I mean...at least Shazam was better than Captain Marvel
@Gunrilla, I haven't even seen shazam yet, and I'm gonna agree with you pretty confidently.
I had a friend tell me today he didn't like endgame. Same friend loved Justice League. So noticed how I said I HAD a friend.
I love the dceu flaws and all. You cant compare everything to marvel and complain when films dont follow the same formula
@opwnus prime, MoS and BvS are flawless
