What’s the point of using a limit that goes to 5 when you could just as easily say (x=5). I thought limits were reserved for infinity and 0.
@HighlySuspected, well in the case where the denominator would equal 0 at x=5, it does not exist so you would say x approaches 5 to see if it approaches the same point as x=4.99999 and x=5.0000001. In this case where it exists I do agree that it’s dumb but I guess it’s a way to just give a basic understanding of limits because I remember beginning limits with examples like this

There is no limit here. The limit should be X-4. You're approaching a limit of failure. 5-4 is no limit.
