See also: video game music that isn’t really that good on its own, because it’s designed to be in the background, but you like it because it reminds you of playing the game
@YUNoJump, Kingdom fvcking Hearts
@YUNoJump, Dark souls doesn't have that problem. Favorite soundtrack ever, and it's just full of damn good pieces
@YUNoJump, that really only applies to atmospheric music like Metroid. Games like Undertale, Persona 5, and No more heroes have amazing songs and tracks in them.
@The Pun Shielder, oh yeah there’s definitely some good stuff out there, usually created by a real band (metal gear revengeance is a favourite of mine). A lot of people say that they enjoy stuff like the 16-bit super Mario theme though, and I have to wonder if they’ve ever actually heard real music before.
@SimonPetrikov, also most final fantasy games. My personal favorite is FFX since it reminds me of my childhood
@YUNoJump, or the music you used to listen to while the game music was muted.
I will forever associate Trapt's first album with Diablo 2. Fond memories of bashing Baal to "Headstrong"
@YUNoJump, the First tony hawk
@YUNoJump, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, specifically Saria's Song (Lost Woods)
@YUNoJump, Symphony of the goddamn Night
@SimonPetrikov, no, their music is just good.
@SimonPetrikov, that traverse town music
@YUNoJump, literally any of the 2nd gen Pokémon music. I put countless hours into each of those games, and I still listen to the music when I study. Good times.
@SimonPetrikov, Dearly Beloved is a göddämn masterpiece of composition, you take that back.
@YUNoJump, I would disagree, as seen from the comments above there is plenty of really good video game music. Music in video games is the same as any other music. I have never played persona 3 but god damn is "danger zone" good a pump up music. "Velvet Room" is relaxing and I can listen to "Mass Destruction" in the car.
@KrazyJ, Oh I unironically love the whole soundtrack. It's fvcking beautiful.
@EnteiLord, Mt mortar theme is fantastic
@YUNoJump, the Chrono Trigger soundtrack is great. So is the original FF3 soundtrack (or FF6 or whatever).
@SimonPetrikov, couldn't agree more. My boyfriend hates the games,but will listen to the music with me and enjoys it.
Well also recent music is pretty garbage anyway
Also because almost all modern American music is 100% terrible
I go back and listen to old electronic music I used to play, I'm genuinely annoyed at how basic it is and hate everything about it, I feel no nostalgia only annoyance at that I can't live in the future and see all the amazing things I won't ever see because I was born in the late 80s and will die soon
@Captain Anderson, 1600
Ah yes music. My taste ranges from 70s songs to Billy Joel to Fall Out Boy.
The meme tables have turned!
I’m real into electronic music that’s mixed with really old music. Electro swing, jazz, funk, R&B. Mixing the future with the past.
Music sounds better with you anyone else grow up with that video
Also me: unnecessary
Music from an arbitrarily determined time that I never lived in or have a connection to
Hey, you can't prove what I listen to at work on Spotify!!
@ptitty1231, is it Aqua? I bet that it’s Aqua
@Zodiac308, actually it's mostly Matchbox 20 and some other angsty mid-90s to mid-2000s songs...
