@Monter408, there is an astronomical difference between forcably taxing the crap out of people so that a corrupt government can spend your money, while some of it goes to help a natural disater. And people not being communists and helping during natural disasters. The government sucks at everything and the more we trust them to fix things, the less it incentives us to fix it ourselves. Thats why its almost unheard of to donate to charity in a lot of European countries, and Americans donate about 600 billion dollars a year. i would add that you can be pro safety net while being anti socialist. idk why so many arguements are so all or nothing. you can be a little bit of left and a little bit of right.
