I feel like America did this with burgers. Like, I know it’s a joke and all but we really do have some fantastic food in this country. Even if none of it’s really original, that’s ok. Pretty much nothing in this country is original. But that’s ok. America is a melting pot of cultures. Someone in my town opened a “MexAsian” place that took Asian food and Mexican food and said “what if we mixed them?” I got a burrito that, instead of a tortilla, was the sticky rice and seaweed they use for sushi, with a lot of normal burrito stuff fit in a way that it looked like sushi. How interesting is that? You really won’t find that kind of stuff in other countries. Well, you probably could, but it’s a very American mindset that made that place. And honestly, I think that’s the kind of stuff that makes this country amazing. The creativity of our people is so amazing.
@AceWolf456, I really started in one place and ended up on the other side of town, huh? Well, whatever. I’m in a good mood. People have the potential for so much amazingness and good. I love it.
@AceWolf456, fvck yeah dude 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
@AceWolf456, Mexican and Asian food actually blend together surprisingly well. Pho is like the love child of Vietnamese cooking and Hispanic ingredients. And it’s delicious.
@AceWolf456, you’re right but don’t undercut BBQ. THAT is USA all the way!
@Canis Arktos, I fvckin love BBQ-type food
@AceWolf456, food purists are scum. If you can mix food and make it taste better, why not? Without cultural blending you wouldn’t have California rolls, fortune cookies, texmex, candied apples, bananas, and a million other foods
@AceWolf456, now I really want to try a sushi burrito. 🍣🌯😋
@AJMalone, it’s basically just a long sushi roll lol and it’s actually traditional Japanese to not cut it up for graduations and such events
You want that tortilla toasted? What of we use one hard and one soft together? How about Two soft with the meat and cheese in between it and we melt it flat like a pizza?
Comedian Jim Gaffigan had a bit about this when he first started his career. He said Mexican food is great but it really is all the same. It’s all a tortilla with cheese meat or vegetables.
It's funny because burritos and nachos are technically tex-mex food. Invented in texas using mexican ingredients.
@Runnin with scissors, a minor correction. The burrito was actually invented in San Francisco in the mission district, for migrants like you said. I’m not trying to throw shade on you at all sorry if it came across like that. Also they don’t even have fortune cookies in china.
@jason415, nah you good. I just remembered learning a lot of the "mexican" food I love wasnt made in mexico.
It’s funny because of the F word.
