Sydney attacks stoped by some bloke with a milk crate.
I'm not trying to start an argument, but the "you don't need guns to defend yourself" is stupid. ]eople who are willing to shoot other people are willing to get their hands on guns illegally. Additionally, we wouldn't need guns to defend ourselves if what we were defending ourselves from couldn't get guns. Additionally^2, we may not need guns, but they make it much more likely to defend our lives, family, and/or home than a knife or something, and I would take every measure I could (within reason) to save my life.
@Invalid User, it is my firm belief that no rules or laws or mental health push will fix anything because society is fvcked too much already. Like completely and royally so screwed up that it wouldn’t make any difference. So screw it do whatever you want.
That’s my take on it anyway. I’ll be running for President on that platform one day
@Richard Cypher, yeah, there's no doubt that there's so much that can't be repaired. We just have to hope some future generation isn't as terrible as this one. This next generation doesn't give much hope. To be honest, I wonder where America went wrong.
@Invalid User, I’d say it was heading downwards slowly and then social media completely accelerated it into a nosedive
@Richard Cypher, “no way to prevent this,” says only nation where this regularly happens
@Blue Shirted Guy, and you’re dumb, comparing countries with vast differences spanning centuries is inaccurate. Thanks don’t come again.
@Richard Cypher, true. Social Media is absolutely toxic. Especially news outlets. Bending stories and hand-picking content for the sake of views, instead of being informative. Alone with the borderline - worship of some of the worst fvcking role models on the planet
@Richard Cypher, yes sir Mr. President. Though very unpatriotic
@Blue Shirted Guy, cognitive dissonance is a helluva drug
@Richard Cypher, Please don't. I fear that platform may actually win at this point.
@Richard Cypher, I actually agree on that logic... need a vice President?
@Invalid User, if a guy thats got a foot on me breaks into my house it doesnt matter if he doesnt have a gun, or any weapon really. Ima need a gun to take him out.
@Invalid User, look, your reasoning is sound. A have and not need approach. The issue is the want causes a temptation to use anyway. All I will say is that when gun control laws were in place, in general the number of violent acts was reduced. Does it work 100%? No. But does it help? In general yes.
@Cloverleaf, that's fair. Unfortunately, I don't have much research done on the subject to further this conversation. I will say that I just wish there were some other way to lower the risk of shootings without taking guns away, but that's just wishful thinking
@Invalid User, it’s not so much about ‘taking guns away’ as it is more ‘closing legal channels without proper credentials to obtain’. Despite everyone saying ‘oh then the murderers will just get their guns illegally’. Well that’s a problem already. But it’s curtailed by stiffening legal means as then illegal sellers are gonna need to take more steps and then charge more, reducing their sales too.
@Cloverleaf, that's true, and also exactly what I meant when I said I had little knowledge on the subject. I didn't know enough to think a solution like that was possible. Not trying to prove anything to you, it's a good concept and I would support it, I just don't want to pretend I know things that I dont
Why the hell would you even upload this... "you know what, I'm bored, let's get some people pissed at each other"
@40 to Pun, I couldn't think of a better reason to post something.
@40 to Pun, I dont get the milk crate thing though
@Not him again, me neither, but people are arguing and I'm scared.
@crazysheep, well all you have to do now is say the word "gun", and listen to the ground tremble from all the REEEEING that is headed your way
@Not him again, XD that comment made my day!
If you dont get it a bunch of australian civilians stopped a terrorist stabing and pinned him down with a collection of chairs and whatever that things called.
Guns are bad
There I spy a bloke, perched atop his milk crate throne, he eyed me off as I approached, and then he said, “I’m on smoko, so leave me alone”
