Marijuana dependency is definitely a thing, but it is nowhere near as harmful as the dependencies/addictions found in pretty much every other drug.
@Fuggles, I smoked a ton of weed in my teens, then when I was 20 I got a job that did random drug tests. It was pretty easy for me to give up.
@Not him again, That's one of those things that's heavily dependent on the person, some people naturally dont have an addictive personality.
@Finn the flying fox, I definitely have one though. I mean yeah life was kind of boring for a while, but I never laid in bed sweating and shaking from it like I've done many times from alcohol withdrawal
@Not him again, it took a lot for me to quit. And it didnt affect me well. At first it was great. Then i started become extremely anxious. Id never truly know my anxiety before but this brough it out. I had anxiety attacks. I couldnt get out of my head when i smoke. Everything pissed me off. I just couldnt do it anymore. Made me feel terrible. I felt like i was wasting away. Took a long time of throwing it all away and then digging it (literally) from the trash can the next day and cleaning it to smoke again before i finally was able to stop.
@tylersmileyface, I didnt really develop any anxiety until about 5 years later, but I think that was due to other factors. But now, if I smoke, theres about a 50/50 chance I'll have a panic attack, so I just dont anymore. Maybe if I had a few drinks and someone is passing it around, I might take a little hit, but that's about it. Sucks you had to go through that, but I know the pain. I've been battling alcoholism for about 6 years now. It sucks.
@Not him again, i really wish you luck man
@Fuggles, I am far more addicted to food then I am weed. I can go weeks without smoking but cant eat a well balanced meal or not gorge myself
@wolfman69, Addictions take all shapes and sizes and none should ever be discounted. I myself was on the road of getting a bit too dependent on alcohol and so I’m taking a month off. Just remember that if your eating is ever becoming a problem for you talking to a counsellor or therapist can never hurt. There’s a wide variety of eating disorders that involve binge eating and there are certain tactics that one can use to help themselves out. Stay strong, brother.
Weed was pretty easy to quit but porn is a constant battle
@Cl3v3rN1ckn4me, the truth. I have regular and easy access to both but I only continue to do one.
Cmon y'all we've had this talk. Yes it can be addictive to some ppl, but it's not dangerously addictive. Some ppl are addicted to eating toilet paper. People are ridiculous.
@TheHippie52, actually the argument that it’s not addictive is based on outdated data. The reason it’s outdated is because the majority of weed that is smoked now is about 30%+ of the chemical that causes the high as where is used to be 5% or less. Part of this issue is being caused by unscrupulous sellers, in states where it’s been decriminalized, attempting to get people hooked to it.
@ThatGuyx79, I said it's addictive, I also said it's not dangerously addictive.
@ThatGuyx79, As the meme says, there’s a big difference between psychological dependence and physical dependence. Very few people will experience marijuana “withdrawal” in the sweating and shaking at night sort of way which is physical dependence. It’s more like people use it so often that it becomes a massive part of their life and they find themselves thinking about it and wanting it when they haven’t had it for a while
Please do not inject the marijuanoes! My friend injected one marijuanoe and did a death instantly! Please this is the the most lethal of the drugs!
If someone loves something and does it on a regular basis, are they psychologically addicted to it?
@ThePandaPool , like breathing?!
@ThePandaPool , i can soundly say im actually addicted to gaming. I need help
@ThePandaPool , addiction is not a valid defense. You need to put all those animals back
@Richard Cypher, are you implying panda pool has a pool filled entirely with pandas.
@I have a small pen15, I can not confirm nor deny...
K. But who's the girl? Or is she just a meme girl?
Saying you have a dependency on pot is like an asmatic saying they have a dependency on albuterol. You just need it because it makes you feel better. Btw dont try to put pot in your friends nebulizer.
Addiction and dependency are, psychologically, completely different things
You can be psychologically addicted to anything.
Ok so a psychological dependency is a physical dependency. These labels of different kinds of dependency are outdated and only used by the government not actually neurologists or addiction specialists. There is a general “dependency” and simply varying severities. Yes you can become addicted to marijuana but you can become addicted to chocolate too so you know whatever just be careful. Most definitions of dependency is applied retroactively so you’ll only if your addicted if you stop and see what happens to you
Theres a difference between addiction and dependence
The only evidence I have found suggests you shouldn't use marijuana before 25, and that it alters brain chemistry if you don't wait.
@Empshok, I’m curious where you found this evidence, I’m interested in checking it out
@Heywood Jablomi, oh gosh...I may have to sort through my computer for specific sources, but of all the studies I went through, the only consistency was that if taken before 25 it altered brain chemistry. I also found that caffeine will also alter brain chemistry if consumed before age 12. Details of those alterations was inconsistent. But, as someone who isn't particularly fond of recreational drug use, I have to say I have found no evidence that there is measurable harm from marijuana usage (method of absorption, however, is a completely seperate issue).
I see a correlation
