wow, People should not have to rely on heroes to live and get by.
What is this dystopian like situation there ?
@Catman649, M'urica #1!
@Catman649, a boring dystopia. I don't want any more action in it though.
@Catman649, yeah, they should rely on themselves.
@Catman649, America land of the absurdly high hospital bills, excessive amounts of sugar, and corporations so obviously controlling everything they one of the one succeeded in putting himself on a throne and home of the paranoid, stupid, and easily manipulated
@eleven, and yet as a non-American... I wish I had the freedoms Americans have.
And yet so many Americans want to give up on those very freedoms I wish I had.
@eleven, At least it's not illegal to own knives, like some countries
@phalcon , I’d prefer the healthcare personally
@eleven, like how I had no choice over what doctor I seen... and how my doctor screwed up my ankle when I feel down the stairs, thinking it was only sprained, but another doctor 3 weeks later said he should have done more tests... so we did, and by this time it was now too late to do surgery on my ruptured ligaments?
Tell me since I pay taxes, and like 16,000 a year or my income taxes go towards health care, (pay around 35k in taxes)
What kind of health care insurance would 16k get me a year in the us?
You have no idea how bad things are up here. Its increadianlly slow, so slow in fact that sometimes by the time they figure out what's wrong with you, permanent damage of a injury that shouldnt be is.
@phalcon , That’s the price of everyone getting to have their healthcare without worrying about how they’re going to financially recover. Do they want their broken foot to heal properly, or do they want to eat? People say to just get insurance but many can’t actually afford decent coverage. Not to mention these insurance systems will often try to weasel out of paying and they’re very good at it. Again I’d rather have a slow system that might get it wrong rather than a system that will nickel and dime you. Forcing a financial crisis so terrible you start wondering if maybe it would have been easier and cheaper to just die or live with debilitating pain for the rest of your life. Your problem can be fixed with more doctors ours is a fundamentally broken system designed to generate profit rather than truly help people. Just like everything else in America.
@eleven, I don’t often agree with you, okay, so far, I never agree with you, but you’re bang on here, except that last sentence. That last sentence is only 90% accurate.
When you need to depend on the kindness of strangers to have a need met
Why his wheelchair costs more than every car I ever owned combined ?
@A Deformed Penis, niche market product?
@phalcon , children's prosthetics are also very costly, but it's because they keep outgrowing them. Now some people are making simple arms with 3d printed shells that can be reprinted to resize the arm
@A Deformed Penis, Right?! Now, I'm no engineer, bit I could certainly jimmy rig something that works with a much cheaper budget
@TheKen42, would you take the liability risk for it though?
@phalcon , It's a wheel chair, not a gas engine. I'm confident enough in my enineering abilities to make something that is safe and durable.
Next up on BattleBots!
Insurance is a fvcking scam. There I said it.
Really that is a good use of their time.
Ok. Let’s see insurance pay up when he falls out of it and it runs him over.
