@werp zerp snickel, I hate this trend of subverting expectations and "redefining" already established characters, but I also like the blowback it gets too. Like in Invincible, comic book Amber is a flat character and isn't too important in the book but subverts the expectations of the secret identity trope by breaking up with Mark chapters after he tells her realizing she doesn't want that kind of relationship. Amazon Amber is an emotionally abusive gaslighter that "already knew" Mark was a Superhero but darvo'd him every chance she got. The consensus from people I've spoken to have all said that Amber is a total b¡tch in the series. Netflix is trying to do the same thing with Teela, but most of the public is wising up to the trend of making a Strong WomanTM character is actually making them act and look like a emotionally abusive frat boy at the expense of other (imo better) characters

@ptitty1231, Actually, subverting expectations isn't what I didn't like, I didn't like that they half-a$$ed it. "Wait, the hero and the villain are going to team up and abandon the Jedi AND the Si- oh, no, Jedi still good and Sith still bad." "Exploring the grey morality of war by showing how far the rebellion was willing to g- oh, no, we've left Space Las Vegas and now a boring space hobo is lecturing a child soldier on how both sides bad ackshually." "The hero of the original trilogy pointing out the flaws of the Jedi and saying the Jedi need to e- oh, no, he says the Jedi will not end, so they screwed up his character for nothing." "THEY'RE KILLING OFF ONE OF THE HEROES...oh, no, the writers' mouthpiece just crashed her ship into his and gave us a Sunday School lesson about doing EXACTLY WHAT HE WAS TRYING TO DO." Like, if you're going to break the status quo, break the status quo. Don't puss out at the last minute. Though I will say I'm glad they didn't kill of Finn, I like Finn.

@ptitty1231, plus amber saying she has known for weeks makes no sense with her reactions half way though. Like if she has known for weeks then she knows mark almost got killed when fighting the basically super soldier st the college. She "knows this" but decides to pretend she thought he just ran off and yellls at him and calls him a coward. Yea she sucks

@SimonPetrikov, i agree with most of this. Except finn. He fůcked up through all the movies (didnt see the last.one) and then he finally was gonna have an admiral death where the rebels escape but no the pointless character rose stops him because they will win through hope (or.something so unbelievabley dumb) and then kisses him. Like not at anytime did they have any romantic chemistry. They just shoved it in there. Finn not dying made him so pointlessly boring

@Sexy Homunculus, SPOILERS • killed the titular character twice •Turn a very good female character into an absolute ungrateful, narcissistic bjtch, straight up Amber from Invincible tier bullshjt • Have a moment to reveal the arch nemesis villain to have a bloody Elliot Rodgers Incel side despite evidence to contrary in old episodes with the villainess. But yeah the live action Avatar will be atrocious and completely redeem M Night Shamalamadingdongs movie.
My favorite part is that Kevin Smith promised it was just he-man killing it, got mad when someone (clownfish) posted a YouTube video saying it was going to be a woke disaster, and is now praising his woke disaster.
