I don't understand why proper note taking isn't a class in high school. It's a skill that can be adapted throughout almost any workplace and is crucial for students in college. Could easily fit into a section of English/Writing class.
@PeanutButterPopsicle, because there's no way to make that last an entire semester
@Ginga Bishounen, That's why I said it could fit into a section of English/Writing 😉
@PeanutButterPopsicle, note taking is a joke because teachers expect you to right a book of notes off a slide in 1 minute.
@Charles Manson, that is why I take a picture of the slide with my phone instead
@PeanutButterPopsicle, we had to "learn" how to take notes at my high school, it was a part of our language arts, science, and history classes. and while for some it was helpful for people like me who are auditory learners I actually learned less because I was more focused on putting things down on a paper than actually paying attention to what they were saying.
@PeanutButterPopsicle, it's included in a couple of my classes in college
@PeanutButterPopsicle, Ima write this down.....
@PeanutButterPopsicle, I learned the Cornell Note Taking System when I was in fifth grade. I still use it and I'm in tenth grade now.
@PeanutButterPopsicle, my English class my freshman year actually spent like 2 weeks teaching us proper note taking and study techniques, problem is that most kids didn't give 2 shjts and blow it off
@PeanutButterPopsicle, Its a class at my high school, but inly for Avid classes, i.e. no one in your family has ever attended college
@PeanutButterPopsicle, yea, well every class I had required note taking. So I don't see why having a class on specifically taking notes is usefull when it's a standard practice in almost every class? Nearly all classes have you doing it from my experience.
@ JCLEMZ, You don't understand my point. The fact your classes all have notes is my point. Kids don't know how to take GOOD notes. They write down too much, too little, or the wrong thing. The class would be designed to help them figure out what they NEED to write.
@PeanutButterPopsicle, my freshman English teacher put aside a whole week at the beginning of the year just to show us how to properly take notes. I still use what he taught us to this day
@The 48th Ronin, Good. He gets a gold star.
@PeanutButterPopsicle, it totally was in my high school. They also taught us how to figure out what career we would best be suited for. They taught us nutrition, and for those who really needed it, they had a different class completely dedicated to studying tactics. It was known among students as the dumb kids class. Anyone who didn't need to be in there saw it as a complete waist of time.
@PeanutButterPopsicle, Because everyone takes notes differently, so there's no point in teaching everyone the way of taking notes if it's only gonna work for one fifth of the class. Everyone has to figure out what works best for them.
@Will I Am Shat nerd, That is the biggest lie college students tell themselves
@guy you know, I wish I had that but nope
@Put It Out, I would do that but my professors get mad (logic)
@Put It Out, exactly. Use yor technology.
@PeanutButterPopsicle, every class involves proper not taking if you're doing it right
@big freedom, But the students may not know /how/ to take notes for each class properly. That's my point. Everyone can take notes, but to take them properly they may not know.
@PeanutButterPopsicle, this is the second time someone has tried to correct you in this update. Jeezus
@The guy with the gun, Happens often. Our community gets more combative every year. But such is life. *dreams of potato*
Teacher: Youre really going to want to take notes on this. It's been on the Short answer of the AP exam 9 of the last 10 years and uuhhh next slide.
The worst is when college professors fly through slides on purpose because they intend for you to look at the slides outside of class if you want to take notes
That is how I am in class😂😂
@xBallisticBoy25, are the emojis really necessary?
@KnightSolaireOAstora, well alrighty then
@LinkandWolfLink12, no 😂😂😂😂😂💯💯👌👌👌👌🔥
Oh the struggle...
Common core math be like...
Engineering school right there
@medaldeliverygal, I'm a junior in Mechanical engineering and I can affirm this is true.
Who else is such a nerd they tried to decipher what was on the board?
Does it bug anyone else that his "2s" don't match?
