Imagine thinking you get to choose what to do under communism. These people never fail to amaze me.
@Lord Cthulhu, for good of party, you are been shipped to Siberia comrade. Make many of product in labor factory for revolution! No of rest! Glory to Stalin!
@Lord Cthulhu, it’s even funnier that there are communist places in the world they can go to but they choose to stay in capitalist nations 🤔
@Lord Cthulhu, I recently saw a twitter thread where a guy said that bedtimes are a capitalist invention to oppress people
@Lord Cthulhu, Its a special kind of stupid to be able to label yourself with a political movement you know nothing about.
@Lord Cthulhu, if communism is implemented, I choose to fight it. I’ll likely die bloody in the street very quickly, but damn it, they’ll remember my name.
@groundpounder04, YOUR name?
@groundpounder04, I will happily fight beside you.
@Lord Cthulhu, I'm ready for the American hate to flow, but I don't believe we have ever tried democratic communism, which seems about as plausible as democratic capitalism - it will fvck up, but it might fix some things too.
I don't deny Capitalism drives innovation, which is the reason for its success, but the emphasis in communist countries was never on sustainable growth, just power hoarding, as in Capitalism, the difference being leaders jus couldn't be replaced after their corruption streaks.
I am not an ardent supporter of communism, but I have little regard for people who write off Karl Marx and discuss Capitalism as though nice for everyone and free of genocide. The initial reason for communism was to surpass Capitalism as a human species, we certainly did not manage to implement a better system, but the criticisms of our industrial society remain valid.
@Factory BOY, the problem I have with it is that it inherently denies freedom and liberty of the individual in favor of the collective. To utterly reject “Capitalism” (Marx made up that word as a pejorative for western society) is to utterly reject free choice. Communism relies on the idea of equity and on everyone receiving the same outcome. If you and I each are given $5 and I spend mine immediately versus you save and invest yours and eventually grow your money, that’s going to lead to capitalism. Any variance in choice leads there to “inequality” inevitably because some choices are better than others. So in order to have this true equality that communism espouses, one must eliminate all freedom of choice. Making it democratic and saying if 51% of the population thinks something is right then it must be so is ludicrous. It’s why the American founders didn’t institute a true democracy in America and instead opted for a republic. Individual liberty is the best system we have as humans
@Factory BOY, the idea that communism can ever work and benefit the entire society, is based on never having a leader who enjoys power. Also, that everyone is happy doing their fair share.
It doesn’t matter what you want cause it’s already been decided for you
That was a very good burn at the end
or, you know, work at your designated position in a factory for 14 hours a day
Working the fields. That’s it.
No one advocating Socialism/Communism ever think they’ll be Labor.
@Cave Dweller, I’ll agree with communism but most people that advocate socialism want to have better conditions at their work, probably vote labor as well
@theprofprofessor, Though the concerns of class warfare/strife/struggle are genuine, at which point one ‘votes’ for redistribution, one deludes themselves believing there is any difference. The difference between Socialism and Communism is accounting.
@Cave Dweller, if you look on Reddit, most people think they would be teachers or mental health workers. I find that hilarious.
@Mag3rPayne, they will teach the others how to work the farms
@BigJohnson86, something tells me they are more likely to be fertilizer.
@Mag3rPayne, realistically that’s correct. The first thing most new governments do is round up those who would overthrow them
The NEP did allow for peasants to own farms, it’s just that Lenin and then Stalin hated them for it and collectivised them as soon as the stability of the USSR allowed for it
I'd be a director/commisar/whatever your side of the soviet block called it and assign people I dislike shjtty jobs.
@Dick Gravatar, Background player as the Secretary General until your time comes to step into the limelight
Kulaks go to Gulags
We didn't assign farming as your job, you got toilet scrubbing. Now go back to the bathroom
