The US didnt "bomb" iraq to kill that terrorist...they launched a precision strike via unmanned aircraft to eliminate a threat upon american lives....they used a guided missile...not a bomb....ffs
@MMSieBreeze, being as I don't trust hardly any news outlets, but I assume we had iraqs permission to precision airstrike our targets on their soil?
@FullMetalAlcoholist, we've had "permission" for a while now
@FullMetalAlcoholist, The whole reason the US was in Iraq was because invited them in take out the terrorist elements in it. The guy the US took out was the ringleader for these terrorist elements, orchestrating terror attacks and rebellions to enforce Iranian hegemony in the region.
@TheRatMan, that’s not entirely true. We were brought in to fight ISIS. Suleimani was no doubt a leader of Iranian proxies who were anti US, and attacked US forces recently. but those same proxies fought alongside the US and Kurdish forces against ISIS. Also Iraq was not warned of the strike. Essentially two Iraqi allies fought with them to take out ISIS, and are now competing for who will have dominant influence in Iraq.
@MMSieBreeze, Why did you get downvoted for this? It's facts.
@MMSieBreeze, well, a guided missile still has a bomb on the nose, so...
@mas2de, not all explosives are called bombs
@MMSieBreeze, I don’t see how that isn’t a nonsensical statement. ‘Bomb’ is a colloquial for ‘explosive device’. A missile is a bomb that delivers itself to its target. A torpedo is a bomb that delivers itself to its target underwater. An Islamist is a bomb that delivers itself to civilian targets. Etc. They’re all bombs.
@Spetsnaz , while Iranian backed militias were fighting ISIS, saying the US and Kurds were fighting alongside them is wrong. Yes they were in the same battle space, but thre was no joint effort. They were not allies, just fighting the same people.
@MMSieBreeze, kind of the same way parents can just barge into your room...infinite “permission”
@KiNgDaNkNeSxX, “the enemy of my enemy is not necessarily my friend”
He "bombed" an Iraqi military base which housed Iraqi and US troops on Dec. 27. We "bombed" him back. He attacked our embassy. We took him out. The idea to take him out was actually already talked about 7 months ago, we were just waiting for him to act.
Surprise there’s anything left to bomb
