damn white people and their *spins wheel* non segregation
No. Just no. Did you put any thought into this statement before you wrote it down?
@ThePandaPool , what do you expect from identity politics? I mean really
@carguy25, pretty sure this isn't any kind of politics, just good old fashioned racism.
@ThePandaPool , they already do this at a bunch of colleges.
@Marida Cruz, that’s what most of identity politics is though
@Cpzombie, then it's not real politics, is it?
@Marida Cruz, isn’t it though? That’s like saying nazism isn’t real politics, or the south trying to keep slaves isn’t real politics
@Cpzombie, fair enough, though I'd still say that identity politics are incredibly reductive at their best, and not worth discussing in most of the ways that extremists want to discuss them.
@Marida Cruz, I can agree with that!
@ThePandaPool , you know they didn’t so why ask
@Marida Cruz, how dare you disagree with me and my68 genders. (Sarcasm)
@Marida Cruz, it's like that one college we're a bunch of kids had a day we're white people weren't allowed on campus, back a'da bus ya ghosty
@RomeoStealYoGurl, I hope this is sarcasm.
@Marida Cruz, nope. It's called Evergreen college, and it's really a thing they do, or at least did, every year. They got a lot of bad PR recently because of it, so they might have stopped doing it.
@RomeoStealYoGurl, wasnt that in mizzou university and a bunch of activists blocked the gate with their bodies.... are we thinking of the same thing?
@BlazingBowman, well, evergreen college in Washington actually has a day where they "ask" all of the white students to be off campus as a consideration to the minority students. I'm not sure about that Mizzou nonsense, but it doesn't surprise me since all colleges today seem to be regressive Marxist cesspools.
@Doctor Yak, theres so many places its actrually reallt disheartining. I think it might be best to pull government funding from all colleges so it will starve out these unnecessary classes where you cant get a job anywhere besides at another university to repeat the cycle.
@Marida Cruz, no, it’s real
@Marida Cruz, that’s sorta what identity politics is...
@Hot Coffee, I wasn't wondering if the event was sarcasm, I was wondering if his comment on it was.
@Marida Cruz, oh
And that piece of shjt Liberachi is already butthurt about the comment section. That makes it even funnier.
@ThePandaPool , That was a little aggressive... we're all just humans here, lol. Share your opinion but you don't need to attack somebody's character to prove you're right.
@hplox, you obviously dont know the guy. He is one of the most arrogant, ignorant, opinionated little dicks on this app. Trust me when I say that this wasnt some out of left field personal attack. The guy deserves every bit of the insults that people throw at him.
@hplox, and this had nothing to do with proving I'm right. There was nothing to question. There is a clear cut example of racism right here. Only some brain damaged sjw could do the mental acrobatics it would take to think this was ok.
@hplox, oh, no snappy response to that? Just downvote and run away? I guess you're just a racist that cant find a good arguement so you deflect to me calling out another racist.
@ThePandaPool , I dont think you noticed I didnt agree or disagree with you. I understand everybody believes what they do for a reason, including you and liberachi. I dont care what you want to stand for because it's probably for some good reason. I just encourage you to consider presenting your views in a way that does not attack others.
Thanks for listening.
@hplox, nice canned answer, but then you wouldnt have downvoted the comment that was solely pointing out the obvious racism with no quips against anyone. Thanks for backpedaling.
@ThePandaPool , Not a canned answer, I am just able to demonstrate respect for all people, including you.
@hplox, being condescending and downvoting comments that speak out against racism is not a show of respect. It's good to know that I can just add your name to the short list of scummy trolls on this app. That way you can just be downvoted and ignored.
@ThePandaPool , Then ignore me instead of trying to start an internet argument with somebody who is on your side.
@hplox, @ThePandaPool, well I think both of you are wrong. I hate all people who have downvoted comments. And what's more, I hate all people who hate other people.
@Empshok, well I hate all people that hate all people who hate other people.
@Doctor Yak, I hate, most of all, people who confuse me with their words.
@ThePandaPool , I like to use liberachi's popularity as a sort of litmus test for the app. If he starts to become too popular I'll know this app has fallen to communism. Thankfully that day has not yet come.
@Doctor Yak, for awhile there alot of his comments got upvotes and it was an uphill battle for anyone with a sane oppinion. Been on this app for 5+ years and commenting for 4.
@ThePandaPool , I haven’t seen his comments here this time tho
@Prince super Vegeta , gonna need to scroll pretty far down since he has 33 downvotes.
@ThePandaPool , oof. But he really does deserve it. A couple years ago he wasn’t so bad but recently he’s been kinda a djck. Someone should honestly just ban hammer him
@Prince super Vegeta , too many people think he is funny ironically.
@ThePandaPool , that’s until they start talking about it and realize he’s actually an ignorant tw@t. Sometime back I think he was arguing about a petition or something to separate America from the rest of the world market or something, can’t quite remember. I thought he was joking until I started talking to him and realized he was actually a complete bafoon. That’s 30 minutes of my life I won’t be getting back
"its not racist if I'm not white"
The same party that prides itself on its civil rights accomplishments and putting an end to segregation is going to come full circle and push for segregation under the notion that it is more helpful to people of color if they are kept separate from the inherent “white supremacy” that poisons all white people. Separate schools, separate neighborhoods, separate institutions. They are already doing it on college campuses where students of color can live in exclusive residential communities with other students of color, and can take part in student unions that only grant membership to students of color. Welcome back, Jim Crow.
@Block1187, actrually it was the republican party that put an end to jim crow and the democratic party is the one that implemented it.
They do. It’s called the ghetto
@x2 6x 9 lol, Oof.
The African Congo is pretty white-free. All aboard!
I thought those spaces where the hoods?
@Goddamn Username, yeah, and look how they are.
@All my Mizore, the hoods were fine when we gave them to them. I say they need to learn to take care of what they have before they get to have new things.
Damn. It’s not an easy topic but we really shouldn’t let our FP community act like this. Please guys, we’re better than this
How about we let them have their own country?
I wish people weren’t such p*ssies and were openly racist instead of hiding behind the internet
White people need a WORLD without colored people
@ILoveKnawedge, Stirring the pot and nobody took the bait.
@Xig, Haha yeah
@ILoveKnawedge, You’re in luck! There is such a place! It’s called the underworld, where everyone is the same color. Interested??
Excuse me, if I just found out I’m the Lindbergh baby, whom do I tell?
@SurgeonSean, Stan and Roger Smith.
Why would any group of people who feel any level of connection to each other on any grounds ever want or need some time alone with that group?? What's next? A space for men who feel some sort of fraternal bond with each other having a space to be with each other???
@SirLoveday, Are we going to let people who have the same struggles with a chemically addictive substance start banding together to meet in private??? Are we going to let women who have been raped by men have more than a fleeting second away from the presence of men??? THIS IS MADNESS!!!
@SirLoveday, well... to be fair an entire college campus isn't a private place to meet.. no one cares If they wanna meet in private.
@Cyriac, to be fair the the argument for a need for a space free of white people has nothing to do with the creation of or the need for hbcus
“Welp I’ve read a poorly-worded headline, that’s all I need to form an opinion”
@liberachi , True: "Push for No Whites zones" is much more succinct, clear, and uses fewer words.
I mean, it not like they are squirming to distort and hide their malicious intentions under a guise of progressivism and PC terminology and think. It's just a poor honest mistake...
@liberachi , dude youre talking about a group of people that will openly exclaim all white people are racist. Its not exactly a leap in logic from all white people are racist to black people need a space away from all the racist white people... cause you know theyre racist.
@liberachi , you can say that about everything
@BlazingBowman, I just read the actual article, and that is in effect what the author says.
This is only racist in certain context. This does not suggest banning white people from public places, this is about creating NEW places for the explicit purpose of allowing people of color to bond together. Are white people so used to going everywhere that we can't handle giving PoC a little privacy? jfc Get over yourselves. As a white person, this doesn't concern me at all. I also have no problem with fraternities, religious temples, sacred areas, etc, that I am not welcome to be at. I do not see a "No Trespassing" sign and then cry 'OPPRESSION.'
@Nyxa, tl;dr instead of being offended, be sympathetic towards minorities. Any kind of minority. Let them have places to assemble. It's not a big deal.
@Nyxa, Sure why not... we can have places thats just for white people too.
Thats not segregation at all..... :/
If you swap the wording around and it sounds bad for another race to say it. Then its racist. When one race gives special permissions to do things another cant all because of skin color. Thats racism.
Want racism to end? Treat all forms of racism equally regardless of skin tone. Its either all ok or not at all.
@Nyxa, ...are you fvcking retarted?
@Seohn, Nah. Ya can’t compare the establishment of private, minority-specific locations/clubs to legalized segregation of the past. White people are not being banned. Stop claiming oppression that isn’t even happening. This isn’t racist lol. Facilitating the assembly of minorities is not inherently racist. But because we as white people are used to being accommodated, we read this as racism. That’s because we don’t know racism. I understand why you interpret this as offensive, but just try being open-minded :3 No one is banning anyone lol.
@Prince super Vegeta , I’d rather be an empathetic idiot than a genius with a victim complex lol
@Nyxa, thank you for corroborating my previous claim. You are indeed brain dead. Do you even understand that word you’re throwing around like a beach ball and what it means?
@Nyxa, again I say change the wording around and if someone claims that it’s racist for a white person to say it. It still stands as being racist for anyone else of another skin tone to say it. The first step to ending racism as recognizing racism.
I’m not used to being accommodated by anyone. I strongly support everyone being treated equally. Inequality is easy to spot when one isn’t being a hypocrite.
@Prince super Vegeta , Brain death is characterized by a complete loss of brain function. I’m doing pretty good for being in a vegetative state. lol
@Seohn, The transitive property doesn’t apply to race relations in that way. I see where you’re coming from, but you’re being unnecessarily upset about it. A defining feature of racism is power, and doing things because you believe your own race is better. By definition, the congregation of a minority is NOT racism. In order for it to be racism, you have to be putting down another race. This doesn’t disenfranchise white people at all. Plus, this says PEOPLE OF COLOR. That applies to so many different races, but ultimately means the minority. It isn’t picking out a single race and putting all other races down (which would be racism). If this were about creating special opportunities for BLACK PEOPLE ONLY, then yeah, I would err it more towards racism (depending on context and how it is being applied). So, “spaces for people of color” is NOT equal to “spaces for white people only.”
You said so yourself, recognizing racism is the first step. So understand the real problem, bud ^^
@Nyxa, So you are saying. The same headline “Spaces for white people” isn’t racism? And that in no way people would view it as someone being racist?
That it wouldnt then lead to others being upset and calling the creator of said idea racist and probably lead to a news headline?
Because thats what you are saying. That its ok to have such spaces up to the point the people there start actually denying entry. And that no one if the roles were reversed would be offended.
Everything from this post to the comments disgusts me. Never have I been so disappointed with fp like this.
But I digress, just like everyone else, I want my opinion heard if only a little.
Just.... the pure bile. All of this was in bad taste.
@BlazingBowman, @Doctor Yak, true. It’s undeniably racist. For me, I was just disappointed by how people reacted. You couldn’t have a conversation without a person drawing up an imaginary line.
“You don’t agree with me ? You’re racist”
Or “it isn’t actually racist , white people have been etc etc”
Its just gross to see on such a loving community.
I’m not gonna hate on Liberachi, or anyone with a “you’re either with me or against me” mentality. They do that to themselves enough.
I’m just saddened by the majority of conversation looking like that in this specific comment section.
But I don’t know anything about anything so please don’t quote me for shjt.
Okay cool thx bye 👋🏾
@Rodestarr, "on such a loving community". Dude this "community" (if you can call a comment section on a funny pictures app that) has always been trash lmao
@Captain Swordsman, and that's why I love it. 👌
Link to the actual article:
@Block1187, thank you. People love overreacting. How about they read an article and asses it for themselves.
They are jumping to conversation without even arriving to proper conclusions of their own.
Yeah it’s racist/not racist/ whatever you want to call it, but read the damn thing first.
@Rodestarr, but the title, in this case, does pretty adequately convey the main thrust of the article. It's all racism dressed up to look like consideration.
@Rodestarr, how do you know they didnt.
