Wait, is Bebop out? I have high hopes but low expectations.
@Drunk Pantless Uncle, I too have the same question… as long as Feye is looking fine I’m good
@Drunk Pantless Uncle, I have no hope and low expectations
@seeUpee, all I know is the actress playing her is offended that you want a woman that looks like Feye
@ThePandaPool , it’s funny because she apparently IS offended. The first still shots came out and only Spike looks vaguely like the anime.
@pleroma77, I know. That's why I made the comment.
@ThePandaPool , sorry thought your comment was just PC/woke sarcasm.
@ThePandaPool , Is she offended or is she annoyed that all people seem to be focusing on is the fact that she's not dressed like Faye in the anime?
@pleroma77, I think the whole cast looks great, honestly. Stills don't say anything about the quality but I'm cautiously optimistic that they at least seem to be trying to go for the show's style.
@SimonPetrikov, she is offended that people wanted the actress to look like the character who is tall with large breasts.
@SimonPetrikov, looking great and looking like Spike, Jet and Faye are two different things. This isn’t just an issue with Bebop only, any remake has the issue of how ‘true’ to the source you stay. That’s double for the source being an anime. But could she have worn the costume? Maybe. She claims it didn’t work for stunts. But at that point you now have nothing tying her back to the ‘original’ Faye so it’s much harder sell to fans. But Netflix doesn’t tend to care about that relying instead that at least some of their huge pool of users will watch it.
@ThePandaPool , the irony of that, no one is mad that she doesn’t have an insane hot anime body. She claims that the original costume was tested and it didn’t work for stunts. However they found picture of her doing a small independent film waking around in panties
*off screen to the right
@admiral dingus, oh shvt that live action movie is still in the works
the fvck is "Avatar the Airbender"
@Gattsu , something to do with blue aliens I think
@Gattsu , that’s the Netflix version of Avatar the Last Airbender
Look it’ll never live up to the anime, the tone, the humor, the action, somethings don’t need to be live action
The problem with live action anime adaptations is you can never cast right.
Cast someone who looks like the character: "That's whitewashing! You're racist!"
Cast an all Asian cast: "Ha! Asians in silly wigs!"
Cast POCs so Twitter will shut the f*ck up for two damn minutes: "Yeah, this is gonna suck!"
Moral of the story? Don't make live action adaptations of anime!
Are we forgetting that Netflix did an FMA adaptation?
castlevania was dope thou
They can do it if they want to, they just prefer to fck sh!t up
