@NotCaveJohnson, yeah, like Rushmore took 14 years in the 30s. It’s been, what?, 80 years on crazy horse with a huge technological boom. I think the Sphinx was built faster.

@Dex the Lumberjack, I'm guessing they are realizing that parts of the statue are a bit too ambitious, so they've just stalled out but haven't told anyone they can't do it.

@NotCaveJohnson, I am going to visit the Crazy Horse monument (and Mt. Rushmore) on my vacation in 2 months. Big motorcycle trip from Los Angeles to Yellowstone, across to SD, down to Denver, around to the Grand Canyon, Vegas, then back home to SoCal

@NotCaveJohnson, I think the Crazy Horse project has been plagued with issues that weren’t issues in the ‘30s. Besides funding, I think there have been environmental roadblocks, worker safety issues, geological integrity concerns, and tribal politics. Back in the ‘30s, there were no environmentalists, OSHA, or respect for tribes to get in the way.

@NotCaveJohnson, the main reason behind that is because they won't accept any government funding for the project they only accept tribal money and donations without any government affiliation. It's mostly an issue of Pride that is stopped it from being completed

Does this stone look stoned to you guys or is it just me
Has anyone else realized that crazy horse has looked the exactly the same for at least the past like 20 years? That thing will never be finished.
