Old animation is better
Actually its more along the lines that the companies realise they need to prepare for the new younger audience and build and animate shows for that new generation and the lower detail is actually a style that interests young kids because it is more cartoon like than its predecessor.
@Vegeta the God, I was gonna say. It’s a style choice not a technology choice. Probably cheaper and not as many dark elements as the original to reach the newer younger audience
@Vegeta the God, gonna have to yell at these kids then. Cuz I was still pretty young when Teen Titans came out and it was amazing to see.
@Vegeta the God, this also makes it easier to make merchandise as companies can work with less colors, and softer material, since they don't need as many sharp edges, so they can make more profit on the product, and more companies can make products, which gives the owner of the show and the producers more money.
@Vegeta the God, but still, the old one was better 👍
@Vegeta the God, I'm just going to also point out, aside from style choices, that the newer shoes are animated via computer, where the older shows were still also being drawn by hand. Even though it's a step forward in technology, I feel it's a step back for cartoons in general.
@fluffy incredible , thanks Gen Z.
@Marida Cruz, The future is now, old man.
@fluffy incredible , if I'm an old man, then you're a toddler.
@Marida Cruz, *Clears throat* Your mom.
@fluffy incredible , what about her?
@Marida Cruz, She is a very lovely person to be around.
@fluffy incredible , thank you, so is yours.
@Marida Cruz, No, thank you.
@Marida Cruz, sorry he won as soon as he refrenced malcolm in the middle.
@BlazingBowman, there was a competition?
I like Young Justice
Teen titans go is hilarious, packed with adult humor and definitely worth watching if you have kids.
@VibratingButtChomper, sorry I think you have the wrong universe ttb has none of these things
@VibratingButtChomper, If i had kids i would have them watch the original. Scratch that. I would have them watch nothing but older cartoons because new cartoons nowadays blow chunks. Courage the Cowardly Dog is far superior to 90% of the shiite they drivel on Cartoon Network these days. In my humble opinion. Teen Titans Go was a face slap to the original fans and an insult to the franchise.
@LaDarkProphet, ah classic “it’s a slap in the face of original fans,” argument. If my parents made me watch Tom and Jerry, and looney toons, when I wanted to watch edd Ed and eddy, teen titans, and sponge bob, I’d kill myself lol. Your parents also said the original scooby doo was far superior to all the scooby doo shows made after it, but you watched those growing up anyway. (Because Scooby Doo Zombie Island was lit) You’re going to be a bad parent if you act like a boomer this early in life lol
@VibratingButtChomper, First off. If thats all it would take to make you kill yourself, then you probably wernt long for this world in the first place. Secondly you might have misunderstood how old i am. I watched what i wanted whenever i wanted. And i agree. Zombie Island was pretty good. But classic scooby is best scooby. Way better then that shiite get a clue version with all the in gang dating and just. Cringe worthy. I digress.
I have no idea what kind of parent i would be. My little cousins, neices and nephews seem to like me just fine but thats probably because i spoil the hell out of em. And you know what? They like the classics to. I know. Shocker. My little 8 year old cousin loves Courage and my 4 year old neice loves Tom and Jerry. Funny. Its as if shows that were good back then are still good. As if.... they dont suddenly get worse because time went by. Ever heard the phrase, if it aint broke dont fix it? Maybe not. That kind of mentality might be a little to old school.
@VibratingButtChomper, And since when did "boomer" become an insult? I am quite baffled by it really. Its as if no one has parents or grandparents that they actually like anymore. Do you insult and degrade your parents or grandparents? Or do you only make fun of the older generation online? As if the entire generation is all one humongous mass. This us v them mentality confuses me. Hey i dont like this new show that blatantly disregards the source material, and openly insults long time fans by watering down to the point it can almost be aired on nick jr. Must be a "boomer". Whatever such a broad and vauge statement even means.
And i always thought spongebob was asinine as a kid. Same with Ed. But i did like Teen Titans. And adventure time was ok. Definitely not the worse. Almost as if i have different taste then you? Go figure.
But seriously? If all it would take for you to commit suicide is to not watch your favorite shows i highly recommend a therapist. Might wanna get yourself ✔
@LaDarkProphet, yo buddy I’m just trying to have a debate about teen titans go being a good show and you’re over here having an existential crisis.
You: Courage is better than the crap on CN now and TTG is a slap to fans
Me: Hold on, you might be criticizing TTG using the same ignorance and insecurities our parents and grandparents used to criticize what we watched when we were kids, give the show a chance.
You: I spoil my cousins. You are weak minded and will die soon. I wonder what kind of parent I will be. “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it,” makes me superior. Why are generations fighting? In order for me to appreciate a show, it has to be catered to my wants and needs even though I’m not the target audience.
I can see there’s no way to reach you in this argument because you’ll come at me with another mental breakdown so we’ll just agree to disagree on this one.
@VibratingButtChomper, Are you even on the same planet? I dont think you are. I made it very clear that i have seen TTG. They traded in one of the best young adult comics and one of the most popular show in decades for fart jokes and potty humor. I guess you never read the comics. Seen the original show. And just have a 6 year olds sense of humor. As for my "existential crisis" what the hell are you smoking? I was mearly answering your ridiculous questions. My parents liked most of the shows me and my brothers would watch and would watch it with us. So thats another point that is completely retarded. You, making this grand assumption on a whim is quite laughable.
And did you not say that you would kill yourself if your parents made you watch a show you didn't want to watch? All i did was laugh at how astronomically pathetic that made you look. I mean. If that is really all it would have taken i am genuinely surprised your still here to make such retarded "arguments".
@VibratingButtChomper, My hatred of the show stems from having read the comics. Seen the show. Watched the movies. You know? Been an actual fan? The stories, parables and morals of the comics and show were phenomenal and made for good entertainment that might also get kids and young teens to think about things. They traded that for ttg which is about as thought provoking and innovative as a bowl of cold cereal. Like i said. Sorry you have no mental capacity to enjoy the finer things in life. But im not surprised. You seem quite ignorant on a lot of things and seem to me one of those band wagoner types.
@LaDarkProphet, I think you’re reading a whole lot of signals that I’m not giving off friend. I just wanted to point out that your ideology that led you to dislike TTG was flawed and then pointed out how your response included a whole lot of off topic points not relevant to our original argument.
You expect TTG to be everything you want it to be. You criticize it for not being thought provoking. Ok who said it has to be? That’s why it’s a cartoon, not a podcast about gauged symmetry. I’m sorry that you’re an “actual fan,” and expect every Teen Titans thing created to follow YOUR ideology, but not all things will, and just because they don’t doesn’t make them bad, it makes you ignorant for demanding it be what you expect it to be.
@VibratingButtChomper, No. I dont expect or demand everything to be exactly as i want it. But neither should i or anyone like and love everything that comes out. You might. But you cant expect everyone to love absolutely everything. People have these things called tastes and standards. You might expect and demand everyone love everything that has ever been created, but thats just not the way it works sunny jim. I dont like the show. I explained why. You threw a tantrum. I explained why your tantrum was unnecessary. You then explained why everyone should like everything regardless of expectations or past experiences. Like i said. A band wagoner. You probably also like fallout 76 and the elder scrolls blades. Because according to your misguided philosophy, no one should have any standards or expectations and love absolutely anything and everything that comes out. Sorry I disagree matey.
@LaDarkProphet, i can see that debate is not your forte. You keep assuming weird things from my arguments that I’ve not said.
Let’s sit down, you and me, and watch TTG together. If you arouse me enough, I might give you a rim job
@VibratingButtChomper, Well i mean now im torn. Rimjob and hopefully nice messy bj at the end but i have to watch ttg.... thats a tough call....
Edit: And it is nnn.... difficult position indeed.
@VibratingButtChomper, there’s a difference between criticizing something for when it was made, and criticizing something for its poor quality. Cartoons have fluctuated in quality over the years, as technology has improved, and according to business trends.
During the 70s and 80s, most cartoons had no real stories to speak of, because the background motivation for most of them weren’t to tell compelling stories, but were rather to sell toys. Going back to the original TMNT, GI Joe, and Transformers cartoons shows how badly they aged. The voice acting is over the top, the writing is phoned in, the special effects are awful, and corners were cut for production costs whenever possible (just see how often in those shows the animation just stops and you have audio over a still frame).
Nowadays, cartoons are having to deal with both competition form streaming services as well as a drastically shorter attention span from kids. This impacts the quality of storytelling in a big way.
The ‘sweet spot’ seems to have been the 90s. That’s when cartoons started to play with longer form story arcs, as well as experimental digital graphics. Beast Wars and Reboot were technological marvels for cartoons at the time, and that was also when classic cartoons like TMNT started to get rebooted, where they could improve upon pre existing concepts with the experience to know what doesn’t work.
Just my two cents on this issue. Not all shows today suck, not all shows from back in the day were good. But I don’t know of a single cartoon from modern times that could measure up to Animaniacs, or Gargoyles, or Beast Wars, or Reboot.
Look guys, kids need cartoons too and the more simplistic art style and goofiness is what appeals to young children. I know we had classics such as the awesome animated DC shows, Darkwin Duck, Gargoyles, Ducktales, Samurai Jack, and countless others, we also had shows that were stupid as fvck. This whole "trash the new shows cause they were better back in my day" cap is really tired and no longer funny imo. If you don't like it don't watch it, dwelling on it won't change anything and you guys are starting to sound like bitter old boomers yelling at kids about smart phones. I can't think of a cartoon made in the last 15 years that I fell in love with, so I'm with you to an extent and I understand. If Teen Titans came back it wouldn't likely live up to anyone's expectations anyway.
It's also because they used to animate everything themselves. Now they outsource that job to some Asian country, where they'll animate any storyboards for cheaper than an American animator would. As such, American animators have almost no job opportunities to speak of, and thus no tools to make such high quality animation with.
@Marida Cruz, I’m friends with a handful of animators and as far as I know they do animate teen titans go in America. I’ve heard of them having the animations colored and stuff in different countries to save on costs but there’s still plenty of animation done in house
Also true for writing and content.
I didn't realize that Kid Flash appeared in the original Teen Titans Show?
@bigmaclevel3, Young Justice.
@LaDarkProphet, Thanks. I'll have to check it out.
I think his dad is a cop!!!
God trying to read that gave me cancer
So what is going to happen with the teen titans after the movie? Are the original “old” versions ever return?
