SPOILERS!!!!!! WTF, ruin the movie for everyone!
@Filker, yeah! Don’t you hate it when Empire Strikes Back spoilers get leaked?! Some people don’t have time to go see it thank you very much
$2.50? When the fvck did you go see it, 1980?
@Captain Kirk Hinrich, well the memory does say 37 years ago
@Captain Kirk Hinrich, "Marty we have to go back!"
@Trent Reznor, Holy shjt, you don’t get it. I didn’t see that part when I posted the comment. I just thought, “what year would that price for a movie ticket be appropriate?”
@Captain Kirk Hinrich, whoops, I didn’t know that was sarcastic. You got me
@Captain Kirk Hinrich, just out of curiosity, how much do movie tickets cost where ppl live? Here in Rochester, MN it's $5.
@WelI Obviously, Gainesville, Fl. tickets are 12.50
@WelI Obviously, what?! In Burnsville MN it's $13.50!! Except for $5 Tuesday
@WelI Obviously, I live in College Station, TX and you can see a movie for $4 with a student ID or $9/10 without.
@satan of the north, Wooo $5 Tuesdays. The only time my broke ass can see a movie.
@satan of the north, yea those City prices, I'm not surprised. They do a military discount too so it's even $5 for night time premieres 👍
@WelI Obviously, if I have 2 or 3 people riding together I can save money by driving the hour down there for a movie lol
@satan of the north, do it! Lol They have a thing here called a "magic bucket" which is an ice cream bucket you buy for $12 (comes filled) and then everytime you go after that you can get it filled with curn for 99¢!
@WelI Obviously, Ok that's not a bad deal. Can I buy beer there too?
@satan of the north, that's the one across town......we just do flasks 👍
@WelI Obviously, $20 for Imax 3d in the DC area. Was 120+ for my family to go
@WelI Obviously, San diego CA 17.50-21.50
@WelI Obviously, it's awesome we're both in Rochester. I often wonder if I blindly walk past other users irl
I actually loved the last Jedi I don't get why people hate it
@eleven, didn't like it. Didn't hate it. Solid 5/10. Current rankings 4, 3, 5, 7, 6, 2, 8, 1. Rogue one is near the top as well.
1) Empire, 2) A New Hope, 3) The Last Jedi, 4) Rogue One, 5) The Force Awakens, 6) Return of the Jedi, 7) Phantom Menace, 8) Revenge of the Sith, 9) Attack of the Clones.
@eleven, my only problem with the movie was the character Rose. She just seemed like she added nothing to the movie. Overall I really liked it though 7/10.
@eleven, me either
@eleven, I totally get why they don't like it... I just think they're wrong.
@eleven, fvck you that's why
@eleven, is it bad that I kinda wished the sith got out at the end? Would have been a fun setup for going forward.
The retcon parentage thing is actually a good point.
But nobody thinks Cloud City is a pointless subplot. It’s where Han gets Captured and Luke first fights Vader, super important actually.
And nice straw man, except in Empire Leia is a competent powerful woman and shines as a character in spite of the strong and interesting men around her.
Meanwhile the women in the new film are Mary Sues who only seem interesting or strong because all of the male characters have been reduced to babbling idiots or completely evil sociopaths.
Good point again with Boba, buuuut his fate didn’t happen until ROTJ so . . . kinda not?
Yes, Star Wars has always had humor, but it’s had some darkness as well.
And they didn’t kill off the Emperor in a lame way in ep. 2, but yeah his origin would’ve been nice to know too.
The originals are FAR from perfect, but they are good movies. The Last Jedi was not in my opinion.
@TheColossalTitan, I personally will reserve true judgement on the last Jedi until after episode nine comes out. Movies in the middle of a trilogy are hard to make but if used well in 9 then it might be ok. Also, I personally enjoyed the movie for what it was. Its focus came across as more spiritual which was different.
@TheColossalTitan, IMO, and coming from someone who loves the OT and The Last Jedi for different reasons:
To be fair, Leia may have been a badass, but the way she was written was never exactly a win for female characters: A desperate plea for help to an old white man; forced to wear a metal bikini for the first third of ROTJ? She was tough, intelligent, and witty, but not a perfect female lead.
The reason Rey is so powerful right off the bat is the same reason little baby Anakin was able to pilot his Naboo starfighter into a Trade Federation Droid Controller and blow it up from the inside. The Force has always done whatever tf it wants to, and Star Wars has always been pretty spiritual about this kind of thing.
Finn and Poe are not babbling. They made mistakes in TLJ; so did Rey, so did Holdo, and so did Luke. That was the point of the movie.
@Danger Noodle, IMO FA and TLJ were awful. I wanted to like this new series so much. I can’t. I won’t be giving Disney any more of my money. And considering that they now own everything. I’m just gonna dig a pit and lie in it until my death.
@Neil Dylandy, Characters are supposed to have flaws. Rey has none.
Leia got captured by one of the most powerful people in the universe and she reached out to the only other powerful character in the universe that she knew. Who cares he was white?
And she (the woman) got captured breaking into a crime lord’s den to save a man, and she was forced to wear that metal bikini before strangling to death the one who made her wear it, not exactly a helpless woman. Kinda subverted traditional gender roles there.
And I hated when Anakin did that too, but at least he didn’t 1. Tell Han how to fly his own ship. And fly it flawlessly himself (better than trained pilots) 2. Beat Darth Maul in a force battle and a lightsaber battle completely untrained 3. Use force powers that he had never heard of before (Jedi Mind trick, no reason Rey should know how to do that) 4. “Train” for 2 seconds and defeat the most powerful living jedi
@Neil Dylandy, Finn (whom I did like) was basically useless. Nothing he did mattered in the grand scheme except to to screw over the resistance. And he was relegated to taking orders from a engineer/janitor the entire time. Why did she get to call the shots again?
Why did Holdo get to make a heroic sacrifice and it be heralded as such, but Finn’s heroic sacrifice get him scolded as impetuous and foolish? It was the same exact thing?
I liked Poe too, (a little) (loved him in the first film)
This film he is relegated to impetuous jackass. And his plan gets tons of people killed.
Holdo, the purple haired “leader” gets everyone killed because she has to lord over Poe how much smarter she is. And her plan was absolutely stupid. A ship the enemy knows is running out of fuel is just going to coast to death and NOT try to jump ship to the only nearby planet they have passed? Why wouldn’t they?
And not telling Poe led to the death of thousands? She’s a protagonist? Really?
well to be honest the
Fin and Rose side story was pointless
@Juggy, IMO it definitely didn’t mean anything in the long run (except character development), but its existence served to build up hope and such, so that cancelling all of it would feel more powerful. The failure of the plan means that the audience’s expectations are challenged; plot-wise the plan is a dead-end, but it’s designed to affect the audience.
@YUNoJump, the pace of the story halted actually. theres no emotional investment really and there are a lot of alternate ways to build up the rose character. it felt like the whole fin and rose side story was produced by al gore
when luke got doodoo'D on by vademan, it made sense because he was wee lad
when mary rey sue did it after a day of training, luke was ye olde mastermank who is pretty much impervious to everything except aging in the extended SW Universe
also what are they resisting in the last jedi, they're the majority
@Dolorous Fvcking Edd, don't dislike my comment just because you don't agree with my opinion you fvcking cunt.
I wish that's all I paid for the new one
Thank you for this
