(Lucasfilms laughs in the distance)
@MrWonka, Disney: *winks at George R R Martin*
Oh, you won't. No way they're gonna let Hammy off that easily.
@Scott Sterling, Yoda dies in Return of The Jedi I'm pretty sure
@Scott Sterling, @JC839, yeah he dies in the Return of the Jedi. Like visits him after they chase down Boba Fett and Rescue Han Solo
@Spin, Luke* not like
@Spin, Oh, that's right. My bad. I haven't watched Star Wars in a good while. God bless the edit button.
*Pops one eye*
Well... Problem solved
Luke can't die. It was a condition Lucas had when he sold to Disney. Unfortunately, he forgot to mention the that Disney couldn't drag Luke's name, legacy, and genera badassness through the mud and turn him into a little bitch. Based of of what we've seen so far in VII and the VIII trailer, it looks like Disney is going to do just that. In which case I will be done with Star Wars. At least the new episodes but the anthology films should still be kick ass.
@Jauffre, there are theories it could be a gray Jedi thing, where he destroys the Jedi order cause it was innately corrupt. I haven't a clue and really don't want to know until the film, I just hope they do it justice
@Page 394, that is entirely possible as well. However, while gray Jedis are badass, Luke has always been a light side Jedi and to switch it up now doesn't do justice to the character even though it it slightly more acceptable to the more likely scenario that Rey has to help him "find his way," which means that he is lost. Luke Skywalker shouldn't be lost, it's dragging his name and memory through the mud, and quite frankly seems like a rather obvious and dumb attempt to elevate Rey's character at the cost of Luke's, which is not ok. We shall see how it plays out though, for my sake, and the sake of many others, I hope I am wrong.
Would you rather he die offscreen and just get a one liner about how it happened?
I believe that Luke is going to be training Rey to be the first of a new order that embraces a balance of the Light and Dark sides.
Well, I am aware of one of the original 3 that'll be dying in this movie... actually, we all are.
@Hotchkiz, they've acquired the permission from the family to use her in IX, so she might not die
@Page 394, they just confirmed she wouldn't be in episode 9 at Star Wars celebration though.
@Hotchkiz, really? I haven't followed the coverage that much. If so, I'm sure that they'll make sure it works, especially as she finished filming all of XIII
@Page 394, I just hope her death is not a cop out. They should have just used CGI for her for the last one.
