Oh hai thar my guys😉
Remember Reach 😭
As the last Halo that had an engaging storyline.
@LT PUNK ROCKET,
"AIs deteriorate after seven years, chief."
"Computer programs can't age, Cortan-"
"LALALA I CANT HEAR YOU NOW GO FIGHT THE ANCIENT FISH PEOPLE"
Halo 4 and 5 had fun gameplay but their stories were lame as hell
@Jaximum Power, 100% agree. I like Halo 5 for the multiplayer because I have a little bit of fun with it now and again but the nee writing is terrible.
@Jaximum Power, 5 i agree with, but 4 had a very good story imo, and they give a perfectly acceptable sci fi explanation for why AIs cant last longer than 7 years in fiction
@MCPO S117, The explanation given was written by Bungie. Rampancy was talked about in Catherine Halseys journal from Halo Reach. 4 had some good points and ideas but it felt weird.
@LT PUNK ROCKET, My main problem was that Cortana's rampancy was really inconsistent with all the other cases of rampancy you saw in the books and such, it felt wrong
@Rtas Vadum, Cortana was a unique AI. She was the first AI constructed from human tissue. He rampancy was different because her design and structure was different.
@Jaximum Power, But... but... the fact that AI of Cortana's type were made from human brains and would literally think themselves to death was established back in Halo: CE... They simply brought that story point to the forefront.
@LT PUNK ROCKET, she wasn't the first to be constructed from human tissue. She was the second to be made while the donor was still alive using cloned brains. Her rampancy was the same as any oher rampant, but was more severe because of the knowledge she absorbed from the first Halo had overloaded her in a much shorter period of time. That and her access to advanced extraterrestrial technology made her rampancy more severe on others. One AI of her type killed an entire crew of an ONI sloop if I recall and stole the ship. It all depends on how much external access the AI had. Kalmiya came before Cortana, but also from the same brain subject. Araquiel is the earliest we see I believe, and was destroyed on Reach by Halsey and Kalmiya. *turns ONI service cap inside out to janitor cap* Back to the mop.
@NightShift Janitor, I'm just curious, with all this talk of rampant ai's, has anybody else ever played the Marathon series. It had an amusing storyline, but it was before cenimatic cut scenes, so the story was delivered in written sections between missions.
@ cobyone27, Bungie classic. There are references to it all throughout the Halo lore
@ cobyone27, Marathon references are all over Halo. You can even get his Helmet in Halo 3.
@NightShift Janitor, You're right, I forgot about the dead brain AI matrix thing. It was explained a little in
Hunt the Truth Season 2
@LT PUNK ROCKET, you mean that "epic" fight between spartan and john lock wasn't the coolest thing in halos history ?
@addibruh, It was k... But completely random
*Remembers Halo to Halo Reach*
*Looks at copy of Halo 5 gathering dust on shelf*
Why Bungie, why did you have to leave us! I know half of the developers went to 343, but half is not whole. I grew up on Halo, that shjt was my bread and butter. I could superjump practically anywhere in Halo 2, and Halo 2/3 gave my friends and I some of the funnest co-op experiences I've ever had. Now I can't even bring myself to play the game anymore. It's pretty depressing watching your favorite game just fade away into mediocrity.
when did an elite get a human hand?
Bring back co op also the mission lone wolf is fun
