@anal bayonet , legend tells of a mythical group of Funny Pics users known simply as the Night Shift. Not much is known about this group, but what we do know is that this group specialized in posting darker material to the site. Sometimes funny, sometimes disturbing. It is said that their legacy can sometimes be seen whilst traveling through the random section. The legend states that after a period of trash memes they shall return in full force, extending their activities into the daylight hours in punishment for our lack of commitment to posting high quality, dank memes. Some fear that this time may be approaching. Others say that the Night Shift died of eons ago, never to be resurrected. I for one, fear the worst if this legend be true.

@anal bayonet , It's true, each cycle this horror rears it's deplorable content spawn, and staff fueled by energy drinks commit unspeakable meme atrocities for the sake of letting loose the demons lurking behind the dank. This is of course what we day walkers call the "nightshift". There is no escape, nowhere to run, only survival until the dayshift begins. Good luck on your long watch my friend, I will be there waiting for you at the end.
