I've tried multiple times to type this out without it turning into a rant or sounding whiny but to no avail. So I'll just say this and move along. These go from being eyesores in games of fictional settings to being disrespectful in a real setting like this.
@TheOnyxWolf, How is it desrespectful? Not trying to start an argument, just honestly asking. Plus, I haven't seen the trailer so it can be horrible for all I know.
@TheOnyxWolf, Im okay with a little memeing here and there, but when your skins turn in to light shows and shït I stop playing your game
@Chunkybear40, I look at it like this. It's a military shooter. (not every call of duty is a military shooter, but this one looks like it's trying to be) There has to be some degree of professionalism and respect to the actual conflict. By adding something like this, to me it says "we don't care about what actually happened, we want to use the setting". It's hard for me to explain, and I'm probably biased as I'm not fond of this in any game, and my grandfather served in WWII, but it's what I believe. Also the majority of these are found in supply drops and micro transactions are already despicable and exploitative, so to use something like WWII or WWI (I'm looking at you BF1) as a front to sell them is made even more disgusting. I'm sorry if this sounds like a rant, I probably did turn it into one, but this topic gets me pretty heated. Like I said it took me multiple attempts to get that first comment.
@TheOnyxWolf, I can see where you're coming from. However, even if they only do it for sells or the setting, if they can still make people aware of the things that happened in that time then I can understand. Movies like Hacksaw Ridge or Saving Private Ryan are good examples I think, even if they were Oscar bait movies.
Btw, Bf1 tank campaign completely ripped off the movie Fury, and I'm still a little upset people haven't noticed. It's another movie that tells the WW2 story in the grim light it was in. Even with it's laser looking bullets.
@TheOnyxWolf, definitely agree with what your saying. if they even offer these types of disgustingly garish vanity things them there's no way I'm gonna give them any of my money. WWII was a horrific time and deserves proper respect in gaming. World at War did a good job and Battlefield 1 was amazingly tasteful without sacrificing the horrific nature of the first world war or undermining the respect fur to those that fought in it. (plus we wolves gotta stick together!)
@Dexios S Divine good thing I only use black/ default colour cosmetics
@TheOnyxWolf, just be glad they're going back to something that resembles real life and not robotic jet pack bs
(Call if Duty pitch meeting)
"All right, boys, we need a new game. We're mocked for Modern Warfare being $60 for same game, different maps. We need something fresh, new, innovative, something we've never done. Ideas?"
"World War Two."
@HiroAntagonist, but the fans actually wanted another ww2 game...
@Arbys 2to5pm Deals, I, too, enjoy shooting Nazis. But my point is they're still just reskinning the same game, only this time to something they did ten years ago.
@HiroAntagonist, have they released gameplay yet? This is made by sledgehammer, not IW or treyarch, so I'll remain hopefully
@HiroAntagonist, allegedly they're removing auto health regen, so it may be a very different game.
@ReeseBobby, so just battlefield then? The speed of cod is whats different from bf besides huge ass maps and vehicles, which cod sort of has
@HiroAntagonist, not to burst your rant but this isn't even close to another COD, they said multiplayer will be as realistic as possible (personally I'm betting no camos at all for weapons...possibly character customizations?) there's a armored and airborne division in multiplayer, so maybe vehicles? In IGN's campaign viewing they said that it's more of a horrors of war than anything else (also they said that you can't regen health and find ammo, you have to go to a medic to be healed or ask a ally for ammo when you run out...personally I'm ok with this) plus nazi zombies are back, I love the original 4 but black ops kinda ended them so I hope it's something new. Just not a nightmare mode like BO3 and stick to the winning zombies formula
@No Sjit, So......Battlefield?
@Issa Gold, hey. People said cod needed to learn from battlefield. If they pull the best bits of battlefield and combine it with the best bits of cod, I'd be happy.
Where are the exo suits?
They obviously had those in ww2.
Call of Duty WWII - The Draft Expansion. Sometimes you make it home. Sometimes you don't. Other times you end up with shell shock. Either way you've been drafted.
Call of Duty games started with WWII and were pretty fun (well the one I played) is this new one by the same studio? I miss playing WWII games.
@AmigoTaco, sledgehammer games. Looks promising so far actually
When I first saw the ads for this, I thought, "Hello, obvious Battlefield 1 knockoff!"
@Scott Sterling, *next commercial*
"and now you can destroy buildings!"
@A Math Dealer, I don't care either way. I don't play either game. If you guys need me, I'll be over here playing Attack on Titan and Lego Dimensions.
@Scott Sterling, Battlefield is actually really fun though. Especially if you can get a few friends together for a squad.
@A Math Dealer, I'm sure it is. I'm just not really a fan of FPS games in general.
