They are. If you need a heart transplant, all your risk factors are considered when and where you get placed on the list.
@A Deformed Penis, yeah that’s what I’ve heard being obese increases surgery risk anyways no matter what it’s for if I remember correctly.
@A Deformed Penis, ive heard stories about kids who are fat being passed over for transplants because their parents refuse to feed them healthily.
@Dimir FTW, it does. It's especially hard for the anesthesiologist because the large amount of body fat makes the calculations incredibly difficult.
@Dimir FTW, you heard right. Im on the transplant list for kidneys and its pretty specific. If I don’t keep my teeth clean they could pass me on a offer.
I completely 100% agree with this. Fat people are just addicted to eating shjt the same way alcoholics are to alcohol. No one set group should put pressure on a free health system, it's not fair on people who actually try to maintain good health.
Full disclosure, I'm an alcoholic. I also joined Anthony Nolan, am an organ donor and blood donor. And I'm totally cool with not being allowed a transplant.
@Kayda, eliminate “free” healthcare and you don’t worry about what other people do🤷♂️
@big freedom, I can't tell if you're joking? Scotland is one of the best countries in the world. We wouldn't joke about our healthcare.
Hey I mean we even banned guns right after our only school shooting. With the support of the population.
@Kayda, Scotland is great. That’s where my ancestors are from. It also has an incredibly short memory. They were disarmed before to terrible consequences. Hope you never have to overthrow a terrible government...
Not joking at all. I think “free” healthcare is terrible. Especially given how people take this post. To think that we have the right to tell others what they can and cannot do to themselves is incredibly egotistical.
You take care of you, and don’t worry about what others want to do.
Alcohol does literally nothing positive for the body, you can’t say the same about food.
@Chifilo, false. Certain foods are not positive for the body and even positive foods in abundance have a very negative effect.
@Chifilo, mild to moderate consumption of red wine has actually been proven to aid heart health
@Chifilo, actually, having several drinks a week reduces your risk of heart problems.
@SchroedingerPussPuss, alcohol is a group 1 carcinogen. No one wants to talk about that fact because everyone wants to drink.
Consider that everyone that enjoys drinking has a vested interest in hearing positive side effects to that habit i.e. everytime you hear a study talking about coffee being good.
It is better to not drink than to drink any alcohol. You shouldn't drink alcohol FOR positive heart effects. It is always a better decision to not drink for your health.
Or... we could go back to MINDING OUR OWN BUSINESS.
That means we pay for what is ours and it’s nobody’s goddamn business.
Nobody has to pay for anyone else’s medical, so they can’t take it away.
Not now arctic puffin
@InsaneAnimeCleavage, boomers are the obese people wym
@moneyeatnoodles, probably came from some fat hypocritical boomer
@InsaneAnimeCleavage, ok, fatty
@InsaneAnimeCleavage, being fat sucks and it literally takes something bad to happen before you want to lose weight. I didn’t care until I had severe lower back pain that’s when I decided I have to lose weight. Some people aren’t so lucky. Boy do I miss going to cicis pizza and loading up 3 plates of pizza though.
@Dimir FTW, I'm experiencing some low back pain currently, and it was exacerbated yesterday after being on a boat with choppy waters for 8 hours.
I hate fat people. Lazy and disgusting.
Don’t think people will take those changes quietly...
