I had someone thank god that someone saved someone's cat.
I said.. "the man saved that cat, not god, thank the man"
Then he went on a rant I worship the devil.
Just remind them that god created scientists. They haven’t figured out a comeback for that one yet!
@sicksadworld, In that case he also created cancer, fvck that.
@sicksadworld, God created the cures for cancer, scientists only discovered some of them.
@mazemarble, most causes of cancer come from human inventions. Prove me wrong.
@Good Pineapple Pizza, Proof works the other way bud.
@Good Pineapple Pizza, Why make cancer in the first place? And why make the treatments so hard to find and harder to endure?
@mazemarble, okay then, I'll prove you wrong. When Adam sinned and was kicked out of the Garden of Eden the world ceased to be perfect and roses grew thorns. So any illness that harms humanity came into the world after man sinned, therefore cancer is a consequence of man's action.
@Good Pineapple Pizza, why should we pay the price of the sins of the first man? Since when is punishing the children of a criminal ever just?
@PoliticsGuard, you're sinless and neither am I
@Good Pineapple Pizza, babies get cancer, what sins do they have?
@Good Pineapple Pizza, You tried to prove me wrong with a man who never existed. Okay
@PoliticsGuard, and some are born without arms or legs. I'm not saying they deserve that, we just live in a fallen world. It wasn't fallen before Adam sinned, that's my arguement.
@Good Pineapple Pizza, I agree, but the argument being made above you is the world is fallen because god allows it to be. If you had the power to remove cancer from babies, would you?
@Weird Porn Stash, fish oil might be an effective cure and is easy to find, but I believe one test to study fish oil as a cancer cure was shut down by the government. There is so much funding going into inventing a cure rather than discovering naturally occurring things that kill cancer, probably because they can sell something they invented but not something we already have. Heard of one couple that couldn't afford chemo so they killed the wifes cancer by eliminating sugar and red meat from her diet and using a heating blanket for several hours a day on infected the place in her body. Raising the temp there higher than the cancer cells could survive in while starving them of sugar and the red meats nutrients was effective enough that months later she was cancer free. Truth is we all have tumors in us but usually they grow slow enough that we die of old age before they can kill us. Learned that from Vsauce video on why don't we all have cancer. Mistakes happen while copying DNA.
@PoliticsGuard, The world is fallen because God gave us free choice. We choose, and still choose to sin, and sin means getting an imperfect score, and heaven is a place of perfection. When sin happened here this place ceased to be perfect, and things can now go wrong. I would absolutely remove cancer from babies, no doubt in my mind. Every life has potential to do good, and eliminating that potential in ending someones life is the greatest crime that a person can commit. A small number of babies get cancer, and that's sad, but if you had the power to save even more lives by ending abortions, would you?
@Good Pineapple Pizza, it is very sad, and you would save them if you could. God, an all powerful deity, doesn't agree. If he agreed, he would not allow a single baby to endure such suffering.
@PoliticsGuard, babies go to heaven tho.
@Good Pineapple Pizza, so why do abortions bother you? Babies go to heaven
@PoliticsGuard, eliminated human potential for good is loss of their chance to experience the good in this world and participate in helping to make the world better. The only reason I choose to stay in this world is so I can be involved in doing things that make the world better. And it's like a book/TV show in seeing the story play out and learning the lore is fascinating.
@Good Pineapple Pizza, I very much agree with what you just said, the argument is why isn't god joining in to help out? I don't think there's a single parent on this planet that wouldn't save their baby. Not even save, just prevent it in the first place. Imagine placing a stranger in a room with one button, a sign over it reads: "press to stop all cancers". I have faith a stranger would press it. Why doesn't god press it? He's always been in that room, he has that power.
@PoliticsGuard, God made us in his image, and he loves us. But we like to mess about with chemicals and sh¡t, and things go bad. The Aral sea used to be the 4th largest body of freshwater on the planet, and they used to dump toxic stuff there, and now it's mostly dried up(because Soviets) and the lake bed is dry and now winds kick up toxic dust resulting in massive unborn and newborn deaths in town and cities downwind. Now would childhood cancer exist at all without us messing with chemicals? I don't know, and none of us will ever know. But God gave us smarts to find treatments for cancer.
@PoliticsGuard, fact is cancer is the result of a mistake in copying dna during cell duplication. To stop tumors/cancer would require eliminating any possibility of those mistakes happening during your entire lifespan, a very tall order. But we're making progress, I heard in a recent St. Jude's ad a third of kids with cancer die, and that's with all the treatments we have. But it's a third of cases, which means two thirds of kids with cancer live! Now as bad as cancer is, it could be much much worse. We're in covid lockdowns right, now imagine if we never found a treatment for the black death and it was circling the globe every year in huge numbers. As bad as things are, they can always be worse, and we save 2/3rd of kids with cancer, and for those who aren't saved they don't feel the pain due to meds. It is impossible to eliminate cancer permanently, but the number is being brought down bit by bit.
@Good Pineapple Pizza, I'm not asking why we can't do it yet, I'm asking why god hasn't done it
@PoliticsGuard, it would require making our dna replicators perfect, and everything that enters our digestive system and lungs perfect. In this world perfection doesn't exist. Cancer will happen, no matter what. God can't permanently stop cancer without making the world itself perfect, including all the the plants, dust, elements and any cancer causer in existence. Every element in the periodic table has some use, and most are necessary for life to even exist.
@Good Pineapple Pizza, doesn't sound too bad, no cancer, less suffering
@PoliticsGuard, it's perfectly logical that cancer treatment can eventually get to the point that no one dies of it anymore, assuming treatments can be brought to all who need it but that's a geopolitics thing. There will always be things that can cause cancer tho, and many of them are manmade. It's one thing to find ways to treat cancer, it's another to eliminate many causes of cancer. We can eliminate many things that cause cancer, but it's cheaper not to. Human greed knows no bounds.
In Soviet Russia, tree decorates you!
Every time somebody has claimed they had the cure for cancer, they died mysteriously shortly after.
Daniel sloss has a good bit about this
@Runnin with scissors, god was the one who gave ya cancer
@eleven, And considering that god giving humans free will is a big deal in Christianity, scientists still did it on their own.
