If you're feeling depressed by your situation, just remember someone else probably has it worse than you...
Also remember that your problems are valid and don't let my stupid comment devalue your own situation, if you're feeling this way, get help, it's not a sign of weakness to do so and everyone will think you are stronger because of it. You're not as alone as you might think you are.
@Sivls, you didn't have us in the first half but got us in the second half?
@Sivls, I love that you made that distinction. It can be helpful to put everything in perspective but it’s important to know that the problems you have are just as valid and trying as those that other have. Love yourself and others. Everyone suffers but everyone can play a role in helping those around them.
@Sivls, yeah about part one how is that supposed to help anyone just because someone else has it worse doesn’t make the problem go away
@Sivls, There was an episode of Big Bang theory that had a similar take on this. Penny was asking Sheldon something no one else knows about him. She thought his response was no big deal and he explained it wasn’t.
Headline: America’s first purge turns into mass suicide
@Man with a Cat, It’s the culmination of a 200 year long plan for the British to regain the Thirteen Colonies by getting all the armed Americans to take themselves out.
And I do mean the Thirteen Colonies, not the whole USA - Florida scares us, California seems to high maintenance, and we’re not dumb enough to try for Texas. :)
@Nellybert , That’s understandable, I’m from Florida and we have Floridians and freshwater bull sharks, two things that shouldn’t exist but do.
@Man with a Cat, Freshwater, bull, shark? Those are three words that do not sound good together.
I was more concerned about the gators and methed-up weirdos, but now you’ve thrown the potential for some Sharknado-esque situation with sharks that don’t live out at sea in to the mix.
@Nellybert , yep they swim into fresh water rivers usually to birth baby bull sharks. We also have black bears, panthers, crocodiles, alligators, 6 different venomous snakes, lion fish and crazy meth heads. We still can’t hold a candle to Australia though.
@Man with a Cat, And that’s one more place crossed off my future travel plans list!
@Man with a Cat, plus Florida Man
Statistically young people are having less sex than their parents did at their age (AKA women are giving out less sex and it’s making men go insane.)
Millennials and Gen z are being referred to as the “wayward” generation now because “no one is there to put a cigar in their mouth, hand them a cup of whiskey and say ‘follow me kid, I’ll show you how the world works’” -Eric Weinstein (AKA we are strapped with trillions in student debt, and apprenticeships are almost nonexistent)
News organizations, social media outlets and people in general are fighting more about polarizing issues than substantive issues because it sells well or we are addicted to the fight.
Half the country keeps burning and the other half keeps flooding
So we are constantly: horny, angry, frustrated, lost, and/or literally drowning or on fire
@VibratingButtChomper, this is how wars start
Life is a fvcked up mess! 🎶
You know. I read somewhere that the reason these recent generations are so depressed is that we have no drive or purpose. The biggest purpose is that every generation before us had a huge war. WW1, WW2, Vietnam, Cold War and heck even the war on terrorism. This created unity and drive as a nation (although Vietnam and the war on terrorism lost focus towards the end and with so the drive of the nation) which the people of the world and specifically the USA took as purpose as a whole. Other accomplishments such as landing on the moon, major Cold war moments, and technological feats have been splashed through to sustain a small flow. That's why there is so much anger in the world and that of the average American and we find small things to be mad about over and over. We've always had a unifying hate. Nazis, vietnamese, Russians, and now the country is split between hating and loving trump. So for the first time in a long time we see a definite split as a nation.
@BabyHulk5577, moral of the story.. we all hate someone but it takes a mutual hate to create unity.
Im here to promote the new church I should create. The Church of Meh.
Through meh you learn many things aren’t nearly as important or stress worthy as you believe they are. Life got you down? Dont worry about it, say meh. Is the problem within your control? If not say meh, why are you stressed over things beyond your control.
You could join us. Meh if you do. Meh if you dont. Few things are worth stressing over. The vast majority aren’t worth it. So be happy instead with meh.
You just gestured to all of me
I was depressed before it was cool
