@Bear of Light, it checks out.
@Bear of Light, what's the billing address? Lol
@Acybarra , oh of coarse, how could I forget.
517 3rd St N, pelinham, MN 56517
@Bear of Light, fvck your credit card, I'm coming to visit. I hope you got an extra pillow, I don't like to sleep alone.
Or with pants on
@Drunk Pantless Uncle, Uncle Mark.... Is that you?
@Bear of Light, nice
@Bear of Light, Theres dark temptation of using that cc info but then I remembered that it would be robbing a fellow funnypics member. That's something I cannot do
@Bear of Light, holy sh!t man, are you ok, this kind of information is dangerous being out there, regardless of how morally good this community is.
@PsychedelicCow, then again a bunch of people use it he can claim he was hacked and get reimbursed.... he could be the mastermind of a grand scheme.
@TheAnderson, if so, what a spectacular 4d chess move
@TheAnderson, or, it's somebody else's card number, name and address
@Empshok, or it could be a made up name, number, and address with the only real info being that I'm a Minnesotan. Pelinham isn't a town :)
@PsychedelicCow, I appreciate your concern, I'm fine.
Fun fact: the majority (if not all) of that money goes to the company making you pay for it, not the author of the study. If you emailed them and asked them for a copy of it theyd likely be more than happy to send it to you free of charge. Part of publishing an article is the desire for people to read it
@BIessthefaII, these companies also don't care if your study is true or not. A scientist proved it by publishing a fake study saying chocolate was good for you and someone else posted a "study" about metachlorians from Star Wars.
Pro tip; go to sci-hub.tw for free access to any scientific article. Its run by a I think polish scientist who was also sick of this. Because all the money goes to the publisher group and not the scientists
Sci-hub is free
Back in my school days, I used to use sci-hub.tw, it makes any research papers u have accessible by putting in the link, so for the ones behind a paywall
Here’s a little fun fact my prof told me, if you go to the “about the authors” section there’s usually a contact email. If you email them, explain why you want to use the paper and that you don’t have access to it, a lot of the times they’ll send it to you for free. Like someone else said, the authors don’t normally get any money for it, they just want their science out there. It never hurts to ask, the worst they’ll say is no. Edit: just realized someone else said this, sorry!
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been doing research for pharmacy school, find an article with a great abstract on Ebsco, and then I run into this shjt
$9 is cheap
It’s like a DLC but for life
I weep for humanity.
