As a white male who had a black best friend growing up, I had legit Vietnam flashbacks of her doing every. Single. One of these techniques... Her old fashioned asswhoopins we're felt through the circle of friends
@Joe2point0, as a White male who worked with kids in a psych facility in a predominantly black population, I’ve legit adopted every. Single. One of these techniques with my own children.
@Joe2point0, as a black male that had a black mother growing up, I can tell you how effective these techniques are
@Joe2point0, as a vegan carnivore that is equally parts of every ethnicity i agree with these methods. You are a parent first and a friend 2nd.
My parents whooped my ass as a kid and I turned out just fine.
@The Dream Reamer, Same!
@Beaverdd15, me too mate
@The Dream Reamer, true story, i told me mom no once when she asked me to vacuum my room. Next thing i new it the vacuum cord smacked my body and i felt death for a brief moment. Needless to say that was the only time i ever told me mom no.
@Implicit88, poor soul
@Awesome Naked Taco, ah its all water under the bridge now. It definitely kept me on the right track though. Honestly, as a kid, i probably deserved it.
I read a study recently that suggested that single black mothers are THE most abusive parents.
Second place goes to lesbian couples.
@I Are Lebo, you actually being serious about the second one?
@Not him again, yeah, unfortunately. Lesbian couples are over represented in cases of child abuse. Specifically emotional abuse, not physical abuse, but there’s a LOT of cases of that, too.
It’s one of the ‘best’ arguments that conservatives have had against gay marriage, but I think it’s just a byproduct of how men and women settle arguments. I mean, think about all the times you’ve had an argument with a women. Now imagine you were arguing with her the way she argued with you, and think about how well that would have gone.
I’m generalizing, but the trends are still true. I’m not saying lesbian parents are bad parents, I’m saying lesbian couples are bad at conflict resolution.
For the record, I’m not against gay marriage. Even if it could be conclusively proven that gay marriage was bad for gay people or even for society, my attitude would be that if you’re not free to do something that’s bad for you, you’re not free. I’m a big supporter of freedom.
Lesbian couples are also vastly overrepresented in domestic violence police responses.
@I Are Lebo, your second paragraph makes a good point lol. I believe it though.
@I Are Lebo, never met my parents!
@Nell, I didn’t say they’re the only abusive parents, only that this particular demographic is overrepresented in abuse statistics.
@I Are Lebo, for the record i think all marriage is bad once you get the government involved 😂
@Implicit88, I am forced to agree. The fact that the courts place so much importance on the ex wife’s ‘quality of life’, and none whatsoever on his is why men getting shafted in divorces is so common we joke about it.
“Did you hear about the new divorced Barbie doll? It comes with half of Ken’s stuff.”
I think it’s absolutely disgusting how men are treated in the west when it comes to alimony and child support. The only thing more unfair and biased against men is parental rights. Women in the USA, Canada, the UK, and Australia have the right to cut ties with a child, whether by abortion or adoption. Men don’t have that right. Even after the child is put up for adoption they can still be put on the hook for child support payments.
People who say this is a man’s world have clearly never spoken with any of the men out there forced to work multiple jobs just so they can afford to pay the court mandated alimony fees while living out of a box.
Male privilege isn’t real.
This world is unfair to every type of person, just in different ways.
@I Are Lebo, fun fact - when domestic violence is cited as a reason for divorce, and the accused abuser is seeking custody (and in almost all cases, the accused abuser is male), they win custody 90% of the time. Courts are no longer slated towards mom getting the kids. Which is a good thing, don't get me wrong. My ex got screwed in our divorce, but only because his stupid aśś thought if he didn't show up, it wouldn't go thru. I didn't ask for more than exactly half - down to the penny - of our debts, which I had already started paying off. We divorced in 2011, and he's still paying it off. I've worked on/dealt with/witnessed many, many family court cases. and I promise you - male privilege does exist. In the rest of the world, as well, its disgustingly clear, too. I could list example after example, but it's not worth it. I'm not a feminist, I mean, I do believe that women should have the same opportunities as men, but ffs we are NOT the same as men! We should be on equal playing -
@mattswife, fields, yes, but we need to understand that our bodies and brains are built and wired differently. I believe that the differences should be respected and treated accordingly, not "we're exactly the same!" We're not. Anyway, today is my daughter's 10th birthday, and the 8th consecutive birthday I haven't be able to have her because the courts decided her father has more rights to celebrate her birthday than her mother. And her father is working all day while she's home alone with her brothers. So I'm a little bitter, yeah, but trust me, y'all still dominate. It's a man's world, we're just living in it
@mattswife, I don’t believe your claim. All of the evidence I have seen regarding both civil, domestic, and criminal courts show a very clear bias against men. Your case sounds like an outlier, not the norm.
This is not a ‘man’s world’. This isn’t a patriarchy. Men are falling behind women in nearly every metric, all the while feminists go on about how they’re the oppressed class because they get wolf whistles, totally ignoring the fact that attractive men are often openly and shamelessly ogled and harassed by women. Sexual harassment claims made by men are almost universally ignored or mocked, men are getting into and graduating from post secondary education less every year.
Or how about the fact that if you include inmates, men get raped at a rate nearly five times that of women?
It’s not a man’s world, you’re just stuck in the narrative.
That mom tho...
@cajmoyper , I'd piss her off on purpose just to get that look of death
@Not him again, come spank me, I’ve been a bad boy
I still like counting. There was a moment in public when a kid was misbehaving, and his mom said, "I'm gonna count to three"
"One " Kid didn't stop
"Two" kid still didn't stop
"Three" Kid realizes his mistake. As soon as she said three, he lost it. Crying, begging for mercy.
I once asked my mom what would happen if she got to 3. She said I didn't want to know
One of my favorite parenting moments I’ve ever witnessed in the Wild was when my wife and I were in line at subway in a Walmart, and there was this big black Mom behind us. Suddenly, this little boy kinda slides into view at the entrance of the subway, all Risky Business style, and goes “Mom, can you get me a soda?!”, and this woman turns back to him and goes “Boy, GET ON!”, and that little boy got. The fvck. On.
Omg. I have no children, so I do this to my dogs. But I have a special arsenal.. la chancla. Any respectable Mexican woman uses it.
@mayora13, you should not be using weapons of ass destruction against good boys. Those things should only be used against terrorists, pedophiles and kids who kick the back of your seat
@BigJohnson86, haha! All I need to do now is smack the chancla against the couch, they have learned well.
Do it right, and you never need these. I have what I call my "wut" look. Stare at em til they straighten up. They know what the next step is - they have to sit in the upstairs bathroom (essentially just a toilet in a closet) with my hubby when he poops. He has GI issues, you can smell it on all 3 floors. It's never gotten that far, they know better
@mattswife, you monster......i like you
@mattswife, chemical warfare, i like it.
