Im 31. In middle school science class there were two girls that asked why we needed farms. Why not get what we need at the grocery store. It was then I knew our future was in peril. They have both since procreated. The future looks bleak.
@megamanx181x, somebody went full retard
@Gallchobhair, and you never go full retarded
There are actual people that think milk is made in factories.
@StrayTheFox, there are also actual people that think you kill cows to get milk and cheese.
@Your Waifu, I assumed you just wrung the cow out like a wet towel, to squeeze the milk out.
@Your Waifu, i do kill cows and get milk and cheese. I also get beef, sausage casing, and horns to make drinking cups
@Your Waifu, if you think cows aren't killed in the dairy industry you don't know very much about it
@Fallout267, you don't know very much about milk if you think killing cows is in any way necessary or useful to getting it.
@Your Waifu, try telling that to the baby cows that are killed as the mother has to give birth to make milk, and to the cows that are killed after they stop making enough milk to be useful.
@Your Waifu, I found the vegan
@Fallout267, yeah, that doesn't happen. The cow only has to give birth to one calf per year, and because dairy farms generally don't produce veal the calf almost always gets sold after it's weaned from its mother or kept to raise into another dairy cow. Cows also never reach an age where they stop producing milk, only an age after which they produce less milk due to being old. There have certainly been inhumane "farms" where the cow is overworked and killed in the manner you describe, but for the most part this is not the case and the cows are only put down if they become incurably ill or if they develop age related problems that cause them excruciating pain. If your argument simply were that farms that treat dairy cows as you say exist, it would be valid, but it's completely wrong to say all dairy cows are treated this way, or even to say that most farms treat them this way. Theres been a rising trend throughout the farming industry to treat animals as humanely as possible,
@Fallout267, the reason being that not only is it the right thing to do and it lets them claim they've treated the animals humanely, but also because the more humanely the animal is treated the higher quality everything it produces will be. Meat from all animals is better marbled, more tender, and less bitter, dairy products are less sour and hold for longer, and things like wool will hold together better and be more pleasant to the touch. If you're wondering about my sources on this, it's from researching various local farms and farming practices in general to find quality ingredients for my culinary work.
@Your Waifu, local farms aren't the problem and it's very easy to lie to your face about something you aren't around to witness daily or that they won't consent to monitoring the "human treatment"
@Duncan5769, pathetic try to insult someone
@eksat, the fact that's all you have to rebutt my argument tells me you haven't done any research on this topic yourself, and that you probably just skimmed over what I said since you seem to think that I'm talking exclusively about local farms and that you think all articles and statistics that I've seen on the internet pertaining to this subject are lies. That, or you just refuse to accept any worldview but your own.
Also, Duncan wasn't insulting you, he was making a joke. The fact that you took it as an insult says a lot about you.
@Your Waifu, you are very defensive on a funny pic site were someone clearly stated not all you are augmenting is facts unless you want to list out your unbiased sources. And Duncan wasn't even referring to me, but trying to use vegan as a way to insult @fallout267 is pathetic
@eksat, I'm not the one who started the argument my dude.
@Your Waifu, no one was arguing. Are you really that mad bro?
@eksat, no, Fallout was definitely arguing, and you were definitely trying to argue on his behalf with your first comment. Also, don't "you mad bro" me. It's too late for you to try and spin this as an attempt at trolling. You've made it pretty clear what your stance is with your first two replies.
@Your Waifu, you know what you are right hope I didnt hurt your feelings. Have a nice short life
@eksat, ah, of course. Downvote all my comments and all your own before you leave to make Fallout's comments rated higher, and then leave with a classic passive aggressive insult. Great sign of your maturity right there.
@Your Waifu, you ARE clearly mad in the sense that you think I'm that clever. Thanks for the compliment. Ouch you got me right the maturity coming from someone who finds the need to argue online
@eksat, I don't think you're clever. I think that you have a big enough ego that YOU think you're very clever and original. And again with the passive aggresiveness, such a class act. Really helps make your case about how angry I totally am. Definitely not possible that I'm just completely annoyed because I've dealt with as many people just like you as I have mosquitoes.
@Your Waifu, okay waifu. Sit in your angry pit of mosquitos and totally unbiased opinions of life. Keep judging people online that will take you far in life. I wish you the shortest life a person can live
@eksat, I'm not the one doing the judging here, and I'm also not the one in a pit. You should really stop digging yourself into that hole. Also, about the whole anger thing, do you get angry when you get bitten by a mosquito? Because I just swat them. Sure, some mosquitoes take longer than others to swat, but I'm never angry over it. After all, they're just doing the only thing they know how to do. No, I'm only annoyed by the minor inconvenience they've caused me by wasting my time and causing me undue stress. But it's not really their fault. Really, it's my fault for even getting anywhere near the mosquito. The moment you give a mosquito a source of food it'll try to attack, you see. I really should've known better, but I didn't, and now there's a very annoying mosquito who won't stop buzzing in my ear.
Now, since you're so very clever, I'm sure you know what I'm trying to say, don't you?
I won't kill you, but I sure will eat you once you are dead!
@spongeblade, their not smart enough to qualify as human so this seems fine
Im blinking so much at this I.... I don’t know what to say...
Then what the hell is my chicken made out of?
Doesn't like 40% of Americans think chocolate milk comes from brown cows?
This is a repost from 10+ years ago. I’m not even mad about..just sad. I went from a middle school kid browsing this app on his iPod touch to a working 9-5 college grad so quickly 🙁
She’s got it backwards. Animals raised for slaughter (at least in the US), 99% come from factory farms. Factory farms are god awful to animals. Something seemingly harmless, like eggs, are awful. Egg laying chickens are a different (breed?) than the meat ones. So males are considered trash. So at birth, 50% of all chicks are killed because of their gender. It’s really sad :(
