People are buying fake vests online and claiming it's guide dog vests just to bring their dogs aboard for free. TBH I don't mind seeing a dog just don't lie about it. Some people are allergic to dogs, and dogs sometimes react poorly.
You might give stupid people bad ideas.
@Tentastic, Yeah. Especially in grocery stores. You can tell they aren't service dogs because they're sniffing everything and pulling the leash, and possible barking.
I once had to ask a customer years ago to leave her dog outside and she replied, "Oh. I didn't know. I was under the impression that carrying your dog in the store was okay." Most people know they're not supposed to bring in pets, but they still do it until they're asked to leave them outside.
@DiSoNeGuY, also possibly going to the bathroom in the middle of the aisle or running up and down the aisle spraying people with diarrhea
@Tentastic, I had a situation when my store had a random inspection and there were a few customers with pets walking around and were seen making contact with products. The city inspector warned me that the grocery store is not a zoo and that next time there will be a fine (inspector asked the customers if they were service animals or pets and confirmed they were only pets). The store was noted for a warning and there was a random inspection in the following week. For the people who bring their pets into businesses that have a no pet policy, please be considerate because employees could get in trouble or terminated ):
@DiSoNeGuY, yeah, they need to use their judgement. If it’s somewhere that needs to be kept clean, honest to God service dogs only. Otherwise, I’m cool with it if the dog is well behaved/friendly, and they clean up after them.
@Tentastic, this is a dog not a child 😂
He’s a happy flying boi
