But they actually did spy on other teams... I thought
@Alliance, they did
@Alliance, When Peyton Manning plays at Gillette Stadium he never talks in the locker room about game things because he thinks they bug the locker rooms. If he wants to tell a player something he whispers it to them in the hallway outside the locker room.
They recorded another team's practice from a vantage point that was determined illegal that offseason. You're allowed to record your opponents' practices, just not from the vantage point they did.
@PeanutButterPopsicle, correct. It actually turns out that the spot the pats filmed from gave them a worse view. If the had filmed from the correct spot they would have had a better view. They were just trying to give the rest of the league a chance.
@Alliance, actually everyone did. "Spygate" was legal until around 07. Bellichick, as well as many other coaches, didn't listen to Goodell's call to stop it. The reason the patriots got in trouble is due to their success and undefeated season that year.
@Alliance, well yes, they did. But it's fairly well known that the majority of teams cheat the way they did. So they're not special in that sense. They're only special because they did it poorly that one time and got caught
@PeanutButterPopsicle, they never recorded a practice that report was deemed false and spyglass they did something that was legal until 2007 after 2007
@Alliance, they did, along with every other team in the Mel sooo
@mickiehutch, So that means it's justified? It just means that everyone in the NFL is a cheater.
@CriTiKa1, basiclly yes.... But if other teams are doing it then why shouldn't they?
@Alliance, well, it's called spying because it was filmed from cameras not in the designated film area, but other teams had been doing it to. It's like when you and all your other 14 year old friends are in the den drinking, and one of your friends goes to the kitchen to get more of your dads beer and he gets caught so the rest of the friends all throw their bottles out the window so they also don't get in trouble. But don't get me wrong, I accept that the patriots broke the rules against other teams during a real game. I'm not trying to defend that, just show that they weren't the only ones.
@Alliance, with new stuff breaking as recent as last week.
@Alliance, if you look up what the actual sanctions were. The nfl made a mandate to move where the game cameras were 10 yards downfield. And the patriots didn't. And then the media went wild with why'd they do it. And it snowballed into spygate.
@Alliance, I am a Patriots fan, and yes, they have used underhanded tactics sometimes.... Nevertheless, they're still the best!
@Alliance, no he misinterpreted the rules
How about words like "obnoxiously arrogant fanbase"?
@JJJSchmidt, ooooohhhhhhhh that one stung
@JJJSchmidt, and huge bandwagon
@JJJSchmidt, do you seriously believe that your teams fan base would behave differently in the same situation?
@JJJSchmidt, I'm an eagles fan and yea we snowballed Santa but at least we own up to our shjt. Pats fans just live in denial
@Usmovers, Yes. Especially considering how much crap the Cowboys get for seemingly no reason. Their fans always seem quite pleasant.
@JJJSchmidt, as are Pats fans. And guess what? Pats fans are biased, Pats fans get defensive, pats fans are passionate, we've got bandwagoners, we've got die hards. So does every other professional team out there.
Also, Brady is completely innocent of deflategate. Science backs this. It's natural to get defensive when falsely accused
@JJJSchmidt, *airhorn noises*
@Usmovers, I mean look, I'm not trying to prove that every single Pats fan is an asshole on a deep, personal level. I'm just saying that on this very app, I've seen a lot of pictures about "if you don't like our team it's cause your team sucks and you're jealous" and guess what team they've all been for?
@JJJSchmidt, :( I'm not obnoxiously arrogant. I'm not even a band wagoner. I'm actually a pretty cool guy if you got to know me. But I live in California and can't vouch for those fans on the east coast
@JJJSchmidt, and the jets, but I mostly blame the trashy NY media
@JJJSchmidt, I've been a patriots fan for the 17 years I've been alive and we are not as bad as the steelers and/or jets, but we are really obnoxious
@dammitdale, that's because this is the only fan base you know. I've spent years around many fan bases. We're all the same. No important differences
@JJJSchmidt, Just like every sport teams fan base?.... It's not their fault if some of their fans are mad at people making excuses for the Patriots winning
@JJJSchmidt, they've all been uploaded by the same user too
They clearly and intentionally broke the rules. That's the definition of cheating. Whether it worked or not is irrelevant.
@Goestrider, If you are talking about deflategate, they didn't cheat.
@Goestrider, incorrect. Have you heard of the ideal gas law? Neither has Ted Wells. Spygate actually gave the pats a disadvantage and was a petty rule violation
@Usmovers, when a rule says "you must do X", but yet you intentionally do Y, that's cheating. Anybody that says otherwise is either also a cheat or an idiot.
@UmActually, they did.
@Stabby, Ideal Gas Law. They didn't.
@UmActually, i think what it is is that youre wrong and im right
@Stabby, you have no idea what you're talking about
@Stabby, PV=nRT, look it up. It's the only time I'm aware of that a scientific law has been used in court to prove the defendant is innocent.
@UmActually, nope theyre still cheaters
@talmet, you are a cheater and a pumpkin eater bjtch
@Stabby, nice b8
@Stabby, I'm a cheater? How? What did I do?
I'm not even a patriots fan. I just think it's weird that a scientific law was successfully used as an absolute defense.
It'd be like if you were charged with killing someone, and your defense was "Nope, Newton's 2nd law of motion says that I didn't kill that person." And after having a physicist explain the law, and solve an extremely easy math equation, all charges get dropped.
@talmet, all i hear is pumpkin fallin out ya mouth
@Stabby, well, in a few years when you make it to high school and take a chemistry class maybe, if you try, you'll learn something. But that is probably not going to happen.
@talmet, well ive been out of college fpr quite some time now and i still beleive they are cheaters amd will stand by that. Some advice for you, guy whos probably half my age, don't act like you know everything. Its incredibly annoying.
@Stabby, you're probably not older than me, and as I have a PhD in high energy physics I almost certainly know more than you about the effect of temperature on atomic motion.
Note: if you want to pretend to be out of high school, you should try to be a little mature...
@talmet, well you certainly cant prove anything you are saying and i dont beleive you at all. Im not stupid and ive been around the block a few times. I dont care at all what you think or say so if the fact that you are still arguing doesn't prove you are lying it certaintly proves you are an idiot. Noone gives a fvck. Im no longer wasting my precious time on you.
@Stabby, lol, wow. Such maturity...
You don't have to believe me, Google "ideal gas law", or look up the court transcripts for Brady's appeal case.
Fvck New England.
@Screw YOLO, having 3 of the top 10 safest states, two of which being the two safest states, yeah. Fvck that place.
@Sir LancesALot, I meant the patriots
@Screw YOLO, well, my comment still stands.
False, the patriots have been caught several times breaking the rules to give them an unfair advantage. They are mostly minor instances, but it still gives them the persona of willing to do anything to win.
@Scarlet Pumpernickel, If you look at sheer number, the Steelers cheat more, but they are bad at it and get caught and lose more than the patriots. All teams cheat, but the patriots win.
@Scarlet Pumpernickel, betcha can't name one instance!
@UmActually, I will not deny that all teams cheat. The patriots have even been falsely accused of cheating, but my beef is their personality towards cheating.
@Usmovers, recording the other team illegally, team members taking performance enhancing drugs (PEDs), deflating footballs (though that one was never proven, it's likely Tom Brady at least knew about it).
@Scarlet Pumpernickel, recording teams isn't and never has been illegal, deflategate has soundly been disproved by the ideal gas law, ped violations fall on the player, not the organization.
@Usmovers, if that's what you think, then you need to check the nfl rules again. I'm not going to waste my time basing the patriots, I'm just saying the picture is wrong. All teams have been known to cheat, the patriots are just known for cheating.
Obviously made/found and posted by a patriots fan. Go Cardinals!
@Drunk Pantless Uncle, lol
It's not wrong if they actually did it. I'll admit NE will be a tough team to beat, but looking at it seriously, DEN has the advantage over NE on clean wins. Not saying NE will cheat, but saying it's not all lies from out of the blue..
@XxNHLxX, What advantages does the Broncos have both QBs have bad arms and the Patriots have most players back from injuries.
Am I doing this right?
No, I'm Dad
@Hi Im Dad, No, no you are not.
@Hi Im Dad, No, this is Patrick!
When your home team is the Dolphins 😞
Except they did cheat on multiple occasions such as filming other teams private practices and planting listening devices in the away team locker room at their stadium....
@Drunk Pantless Uncle, filming other teams privates. Planting listening devices in the away team. I love punctuation
@Drunk Pantless Uncle, They filmed from an illegal location. Filming those practices was legal, just not from the locations they did it.
@PeanutButterPopsicle, never filmed a practice
That's why they lost, they forgot to cheat
I'm rooting for the panthers sooooooo
@Michael Fassbender, GO PANTHERS!
@JenniBoo, I don't even like the panthers I just go to school in Charlotte and want to riot
Deflating a ball for better grip gives them a better advantage. Just saying.
@Dr Genitals, they didn't deflate the balls. There's something called the ideal gas law, look it up. I think this might be the only time in history that a scientific law was used by the defense in a court of law...
Simplified: gasses expand if heated, and contract when cooled. The balls were measured in a 70 degree room before the game. They were then taken out to a 30 degree field (which means that pressure decreased by 1-1.5 pounds). Afterwords the patriots balls were measured immediately, while the other team's weren't measured until after they sat in a 70 degree room for 30+ minutes (which means their pressure went up by 1-1.5 pounds).
How about, "lost to Denver? "
Except I'm a lifelong Panthers and were actually good this year so I'm pretty excited for a good Super Bowl patriots vs panthers
@Penetrated, WOO! Too bad it won't be the patriots ;D
@That Wolf Furry, YESSS!! I hate the patriots, love Peyton. Things are going even better than expected.
LETS GO PATS!!!!! WOOOO
@Anal Invasion, Wooooo
@mickiehutch, did you know the world is made up of 75% people and 25% patriot haters?
@Anal Invasion, that I did not, but did you watch the game. I had high hopes!!
I thinks someone at funny pics is a patriots fan...just a hunch though
My teams 15-1?
They forgot plowgate
It's true. It's sad how sports fans care more about the sport than even the players... And you don't get paid... Get over yourselves and made up drama.
@ComedyPro, players come and go and get paid millions to throw a ball around a few weeks a year. We only care about their contribution to making our teams win
@Drunk Pantless Uncle, there's no "our" unless you play for the team. Unless you get a check or salary from the team, you're not apart of "them."
Well my team beat the Patriots and are now in the super bowl so....
ya they patriots are the best, oh wait the Broncos won
What team doesn't spy on the others? There's no sportsmanship in sports anymore just incredible liars. I say this even as a Patriots fan.
@Crapcrapper, except spying is legal...
I hope Peyton beats the Patriots today....then loses to the Cardinals in the superbowl haha.
How about defending Super Bowl champions or 4 time Super Bowl champions
@Gadaw Rung, how bout....they lost 😂
Well, my team is the Broncos. So suck it.
This is the dumbest meme, they did cheat they just still won't admit it. Every other team when they are caught admits it so there is "proof"
And they played with deflated balls... Footballs and otherwise.
I like the patriots, but I will agree that Boston sports fans are the worst
This post is more fun to look at after the game... #gopanthers
