Except that’s not true. They would look at that bridge and say “but bridges collapse all the time! This is 0% safe! It WILL collapse! I don’t care how long it’s been there, or how many people have crossed it safely! I made a bridge of a log over a creek and it fell! So bridges aren’t safe!”
@AceWolf456, and then proceed to hammer a brick out of the support, making it slightly less safe for everyone else.
@AceWolf456, no no no its more like i read somewhere on the internet bridges cause autism and that this essential oil will get me accross the water safely.
@BlazingBowman, well oil does float on water, so there’s gotta be some truth to that!
@ThePandaPool , hey, if I can take it apart so easily it must not be safe
@wynaut, My cousin’s best friend’s uncle knows a guy who lost his wife to bridges. She drove across one and then crashed 2 miles down the road; died on impact. So sad.
@AceWolf456, there is 100% chance you will eventually die. Might as well die now. Antivax logic
@Implicit88, depression logic too
Kurzgesagt did a great video on vaccinations to show any of your antivax friends. Plus it’s got pretty pictures so it’ll hold their attention
I do recall an anti vaxxer who didn’t let her grandkids get vaccinated because she was a paranoid old fart that believed the Chinese were using it to weaken us. Doctor turned her logic around, said that was Chinese perpetuated propaganda to weaken America.
Unless I’m confusing myself that means there’s a 1 in 333.3334 chance I won’t be safe on it? I’d hope it be a fvckton better than that.
1 out of 1000 is 99.9
1 out of 10000 is 99.99
1 out of 100,000 is 99.999
1 out of 300,000 is 99.9997
@mas2de, there we go, thanks for setting me straight!
Except bridges are designed with a Factor of Safety, so pending any impossible traffic weight, the bridge is likely designed to hold 2-4x maximum capacity.
