I really can't stand apple as a company.
@ThePandaPool , I can't stand people that buy apple just because it's apple. If you like their software, etc. Fine. But when they are just like "oh apple is the best, that's it" I hate that but I get a giggle that they blindly buy (in my opinion) lesser products for the name)
@Drunk Pantless Uncle, sorry, but I can't take you seriously until you put on pants.
@ThePandaPool , ....I don't even own pants.
Yes, I'm also on house arrest
@Drunk Pantless Uncle, comment of the day right there. 👍
@ThePandaPool , The only apple products I’ve ever bought for myself were iphones. And my last one was the iphone 6, that I still have now. I wanna switch over but I’ll just wait till my phone stops working
@Drunk Pantless Uncle, I prefer iOS to Android myself, but I’m not going to say that either is objectively better. I am just partial to the user interface and applications.
@K1l, from what I hear about the 6, you're on borrowed time.
@ThePandaPool , im breaking down and going to get my first Iphone later this year. Since they came out with the Iwatch4 that has the upgraded heart features. Itll be able to help me more than my fitbit currently
@Drunk Pantless Uncle, there's no company, I think, I constantly buy products from over and over just because of the name. If I do it's because of their service mainly. Like my brother buys a lot of Asus products but that's because their customer service is a delight. Meanwhile I'm relatively sure Apple's is ass.
@Drunk Pantless Uncle, i just prefer the simple interface I don’t need super powered stuff for what I’m using it for mainly video watching and apple products work well enough
@Drunk Pantless Uncle, I had an ipod touch for years before getting an android based phone. Took some getting used to but I like android far more now. I think the only thing Apple has over Android phones is the autocorrect system. Though I just downloaded swype keyboard and that fixed it right up
@Drunk Pantless Uncle, I have just always had an iPhone, it works for me so I have never really felt any desire to try other products and hope that they are as good or better. It’s a lot of money to trade in on a gamble
@Drunk Pantless Uncle, I’m kinda stuck at this point, got an iPod video back when they were new, and have had an iPod all the way up to the iPhone 4 coming out where I broke down and got one. I have literal thousands of dollars in my iTunes because a friend back in college would repay favors with iTunes cards and the ones I got for myself or was given as gifts.
@Drunk Pantless Uncle, as someone who works for carphone warehouse (phone shop) it really does piss me off when people say this, or I see YouTube comments on a complete random video saying apple are the best, then Samsung, then saying you don't see any celebrities with an android and its just wow people can just be so ignorant. Like a 30 minute Google search can give you the information to at least be correct in what you're saying, and actually give you valid arguments instead of "you don't see celebrities using android" which is bull anyway
@RevenantofAshes , you can play iTunes content without iTunes
@Jessie02, oh, you have a magical way to get all my games and progress in them to another device? I have about 40 or so of them that I cycle through at any given point. Some classic games, others with accounts tied to my Apple ID. If it were only music it’d be easy to do as you suggest, but it’s not.
@Drunk Pantless Uncle, my fiance is blind, we buy apple because the accessibility is literally unrivaled, she can even use apps like Instagram, because the phone describes what the picture is, it's insane, meanwhile 95% of the apps for android don't have ANY accessibility, and those that do, it'll tell you the name of the app, and MAYBE a few of the menu parts
Yet Apple keeps making more money
If this is in reference to the USB C vs Lightning Cable then it’s not even a discussion because the Lightning port has been in use since 2012 but the USB C was developed in 2014. Apple has always been extremely sensitive with their developments, both hardware and software. That’s a real shame too because in my opinion the Lightning cable is a better/more resistant to damage cable.
@The Xenocide, the cable resistance on the usb-c will always be dependant on the company that made it, and both cables do the same job really all companies should agree on the same one to make things convenient
@Braumz, what I meant is design-wise. A lightning cable has 2 major points of failure.
1. The charge port on the phone itself, this means the actual physical component housing of the port.
2. The cable, specifically where it plugs into the charge port. We all know the base quality of Apple’s original cables is less than stellar. The after market ones have some really good ones though, true of any product.
USB C on the other hand has 3 major points of failure
1 and 2. Just like the Lightning cable these are the same.
3. This is where an inherent weakness in my opinion resides. USB C has not just the charging cable going into the charge port but part of the charge port going inside the charging cable too. That little bit is a weak point and adds to where things could break.
All that said at my job most of the devices we get that have damaged charge ports wouldn’t have mattered either way. As far as I have personally seen I have no actual statistical backing to any of my personal cont.
@The Xenocide, claims and it is all just opinion. Others are more than welcome to have their own opinions and preferences. Until I see hard evidence either way I’ll stand by my opinion and welcome discussion from other points of view.
What's electric waste?
@freakazoid, all the charging cables you can no longer use after you get a new phone.
Got a new iPhone. I miss the headphone jack.
Isn’t lightning the only proprietary Apple cable at the moment? And it’s used on all products except the MacBook that uses a universal cable.
