@Tasteicles, the flowers were called violets before the color had a name. So to most who would view them, they were close to blue and would be called blue for that reason. on a side note, there is a similar case with oranges. The fruit was called an orange long before they could think of a name for the fruits color. It was simply red-yellow before the term orange was used to describe color.
