unpopular opinion: sword and shield are actually good.
@Swagnamite, I guess I can see why you're unpopular.
@Swagnamite, they are good, they're just not great. And they're still missing features.
@Swagnamite, They are enjoyable. But definitively flawed.
@Marida Cruz, I will only count the missing pokémon as "missing features" because megas and z moves more so, were generational things that shouldn't have been expected to stay forever because that's not how pokémon has ever worked, and other than it not changing the design too much (except for the gigantamax) dynamaxing is better than megas because every pokémon (except for the legendaries) can do it so it's not confined to a handful of pokémon and you're not restricted to mega stones as the held item
@DandyZombie35, they do have their flaws, they are by no means perfect games, but they are a step in a great direction, I know people are upset about dexit but other than that everything else is an improvement for the most part.
@Swagnamite, I would argue that online functionality didn't take enough steps in the right direction but some good steps have been made elsewhere.
@DandyZombie35, the online functionality definitely could be better, but it's still not terrible
@Swagnamite, Not good as Axe and Shield, and Spear and Shield best. Also why we talk few word now?
@SimonPetrikov, why say many word when few word do trick?
@Swagnamite, fun =/= good
@Swagnamite, I feel like the problem is it's good just not Pokemon good
@Swagnamite, except a lack of post game and the guy with extremely phalic hair
@Swagnamite, except they have gigantamaxing which is functionally identical to mega evolution except it lasts fewer turns.
@Swagnamite, the level system and gyms are broken I speed leveled two pokemon to 80 the just dynamaxed for 1hr and beat all the gyms and boss the longest part of the game is the chatting and forced cut scenes not the game play. It was way to easy.
@Davrial, taste is subjective and what's good to you isn't good to everyone else, that's the beauty of opinions, everyone's doesn't have to be the same.
@eleven, how dare you speak ill of swordward.
@Marida Cruz, but it's more balanced because it lasts fewer turns, it's not like a mega kangaskhan, mega rayquaza, or primal kyoger or groudon running rampant for a whole match.
@Swagnamite, at least his name isn’t quite as dumb as his brother’s
@Cousteau, spoiler alert, people have speed ran every single pokémon game, pokémon has never been very difficult games to beat to story, I've played every main series game and they have never been difficult, and by speed leveling you only robbed yourself the chance at the decently paced story, it wasn't designed for you to have to go grind for hours on end just to beat it. that's artificial difficulty anyway and doesn't make the game better at all.
@eleven, just wait for the 3rd game when gunther will show up.
@Swagnamite, at least his name will be normal
@Swagnamite, the other games were much harder to speed run at least from my experience or at least much harder to speed level. Also you had restrictions of level usage based on gym badges not just what level you can catch.
@Cousteau, well you're the one who chose to speed level and not just play normally, so you only have yourself to blame and you get zero sympathy from me. and are you really complaining about the game having less arbitrary restrictions to limit your progress?
@Cousteau, idk it may just be me but there were a hell of a lot less people who would just randomly heal your pokemon as well as the fact that you no longer need experience share to speed level your party are very clear reasons why this game was so much easier than the rest. You gain no experience from gigantamax raids which makes it useless to spam the sphincters unless you need specific attributes for pokemon or items (let's be honest it's just the items) almost every game you were extremely limited on rare candies. Sword and shield are clearly designed to be cheeseball easy (probably for the age group that pokemon is naturally aimed at)
The venasaur is a clean shaven Lizzo
@admiral dingus, dont insult Venusaur like that
Unpopular opinion: people make mountains out of molehills of what's wrong with sword and shield. It's the most fun one made since x&y. The dexit is just people crying that their team they transfered from old games aren't allowed. They don't want to play on a fair field and try. Negatives of the game are that online is bad but that's Nintendo for you. I don't nitpick that oh the image isn't highest quality so I guess the experience is ruined. Can't play.
Gyms were easy but still enjoyable.
