Homer in a bar full of pokemon go logos
Pokemon go has done wonders to improve socialization and heighten tensions between groups of people
Go ahead down vote me if you will... But as an outdoor person, I've always enjoy long walks and being outside. And seeing a bunch of people have to rely on their phone to catch Pokemon is kinda sad. Don't get me wrong the idea behind it still blows my mind a virtual world being in the real world is really cool. I've never played it so sue me on that. But I've overheard of people saying this is the ONLY reason why they go outside when outside have always been a wonderful place to be. I'm not hear to make a rant or an argument, I'm just saying you don't need a reason to go outside. Thank you for your time reading this...
@Snowfrake , yeah it is sad but at least people finally do it
@Snowfrake , ahem... Potato?
@Snowfrake , *here
@Snowfrake , the thing is I enjoy video games more than outside. So having a video game that makes me go outside is great for me
You have a great point, I'm not going to deny that, and while it may have been my excuse at first, the game has actually been the gateway to a daily exercise routine, and some people have been using to start working out or it's become secondary to it. Pokemon Go just makes the workout 10x more entertaining than just listening to music (using it to hatch so many frickenfracken eggs).
Your still right though, it's an excuse for some people, but for a few of us within, it's physically made our lives a little better
@Agent Orange, you're*
I can't spell :(
@Snowfrake , as someone who deals with anxiety and depression it's nice to have something that motivates me to go outside and socialize without panicking or finding an excuse to not go. I'm actually excited to go outside to catch Pokemon (:
@Snowfrake , ironically all this talk of people playing Pokemon Go has made me just want to go outside, and i cant even use the app on my phone :P
@Snowfrake , I live in a small urban area and I walk everywhere. I just downloaded Pokemon Go yesterday and today I played it on my mile walk home from my errand. It was kind of hilarious because there were dozens of people in the nearby park playing, plus cops and a news van, way more people than would normally be in the park on such a hot day.
@Snowfrake , I love camping au savage, and we turn our phones off to save them for emergencies until we trek back to civilization (probably about 3 days)
@Snowfrake , I didn't go outside until I was 16, if Pokemon Go was released when I was a kid it would have helped me
@Snowfrake , I had a friend post on Facebook the other day that Pokemon go makes family walks more fun and now she wants to go on them where as before she thought it was boring. I'm sorry but that's really sad. You have to have a video game to take a walk with your husband and child? You can't just enjoy the time together? It's pathetic in my opinion that you need a video game to have fun on a walk and you're also ignoring your family that way. I rarely play Pokemon go. I joined day 1 and I'm only a level 3. If we go on walks I walk with my family. I don't go walking just to catch Pokemon.
I would say, "I was outside before it was cool", but your comment isn't a rant..
Anyway I think it's a good thing if people who wouldn't otherwise normally go outside finally do, even if it's for an AR game.
When I go cycling I like to play spot-the-Pokemon-Go-players.
@Nicer Canadian, it's sad that even though it isn't released in Canada people still manage to play it here.
@Snowfrake , I went from being outside 2-3 hours a day to being outside around 10 hours every day... I predict American obesity rates will drop while skin cancer rates skyrocket
This lesbian bar doesn't have a fire exit
What if Pokemon go was created by the government to distract us from their plans to take over the world?
So me right now
When you're the only one on team Valor and your entire town is on team Mystic.
That was me until this morning
Seriously though, the downtown river walk in SA has never been as populated with strangers actually willing to talk to you about this game.
