Most forms of government will work if they had the right people to run it. You know, like people who actually care about their citizens well being.
@Pharaoh, I agree, however it has been shown historically that no one cares about the citizens more than the citizens themselves. That's why the limited government of a democratic republic works so well, because authority derives from the consent of the governed.
@Pharaoh, anyone capable of attaining the office of president should never be allowed to be given the office of president
@KingofFunnypics, I think a (slightly) more realistic solution would be to execute the president at the end of their term in office. Therefore, no one will ever become president for self serving reasons, because they’d die at the conclusion of the job. The job would be a literal sacrifice for the people.
@I Are Lebo, ... I mean that is perfectly logical. But I somehow dislike it.
@KingofFunnypics, well, yeah. There’s not much more barbaric than needless human sacrifice. It’s primitive af.
I’m not advocating the idea, just theorizing.
@I Are Lebo, We could also try total democracy where citizens vote on everything and there is no appointed officials. Would probably end terribly because people are terrible, but still.
@I am bacon man, people being terrible is only the second biggest reason why that won’t work. The big one is because it takes so long to reach consensus on most issues that most will literally never get solved.
Remember, we humans have a tendency to carry on feuds for generations. We can be an extremely stubborn bunch of naked apes.
@I Are Lebo, I think of it more as majority rule and the voting system would be through smart phone
@I am bacon man, yeah, because that’s not a system that’s hugely vulnerable to manipulation...
@I Are Lebo, hacking? What’s hacking? *Nervously looks side to side in Russian*
@I Are Lebo, and everyone loves a good shadow government
@Pharaoh, the issue is that the sociopaths are the ones that want to be in power
@I Are Lebo, I know this was 14 months ago, but I’d like to add here that a much less extreme yet still effective version of your idea is to just pay the president very little. People become teachers knowing they will not make much because they want to help children (in most cases). Imagine if politicians were paid the same as teachers, and weren’t allowed to receive funding from third parties. A lot of the problem with our government now is that our congress is bought and afraid to lose their corporate backing.
@KermitSmash, technically speaking, for most American presidents that already seems to be the case. One of the accusations being levied against Trump is that he is overstepping his legal bounds by leveraging his position to earn more money from investments, which is an impeachable offence (apparently).
Congress is more vulnerable to corporate money pandering than the presidency, or at least that’s how it seems to me.
As a side note, I actually quite enjoy when people vote or reply to old comments of mine. It gives me the opportunity to take a fresh perspective to my own arguments.
@Boomhauer, careful. To some people, that’s hate speech.
This dog is a fücking moron unfortunately. #ButItWasntRealCommunism
@Thinlizzy, It's a shame you got downvoted. Capitalism has lifted more out of poverty than any other economic system.
@Self Stimulation, communism has proven it will never work time and again because of assholes. Either assholes scheming the system to benefit themselves or assholes running the system to ensure they get rich while the rest of the country starves. Anyone who seriously supports communism should probably learn more about its history
Now can someone please pass me another slice of pizza?
I love capitalism. I think it’s great The FCC voted to kill net neutrality to allow small businesses to compete. While some will disagree with me on those points I would hope we can come to a consensus that funny pics isn’t the place to discuss this crap. It’s the place we go to get away from it while sitting on the toilet. Merry Christmas!
@Gigantaur, if you don’t think this is the platform to talk about net neutrality, then why would you bring it up on a pic entirely unrelated to net neutrality?
Perfect governments will never work because they require everything else to work as expected.
Oh good lord. Only a socialist would trust a dog to instruct them on economics and personal property rights.
@arabTerminator, Everyone who isn’t against capitalism likes Trump? Didn’t know I liked Trump
@big freedom, figured you'd reply lol Its just interesting a lot of people here get butt hurt when a joke is made against Trump/republicans bunch of snowflakes calling everyone else snowflakes and sjw
@arabTerminator, how am I butt hurt? For one thing I’m neither republican or Trump supporter. I just pointed out that you are ignorant.
@Commandshark, nah I was just trying to see what people would reply all upset because a comment hurt their feelings and I got one within 30 minutes, these are usually the same people calling everyone else names to mask their fragile feelings.
@arabTerminator, there is a difference between people being annoyed at a joke because it is at the expense of something they like or are passionate about, and someone who is annoyed at a joke that is very clearly not an actual joke, but a thinly veiled jab at something or someone.
@Commandshark, My approval of capitalism has nothing to do with my sexual attraction to the Supreme Leader Oompa Loompa.
@SimonPetrikov, I want to see a fan made remake of The Last Jedi where Snoke is replaced by a literal Oompa Loompa version of Donald Trump
@I Are Lebo, Only if he sings every line
