Yet PETA thinks that dogs are so miserable as pets that the only course of action is to steal them from their owners and murder them in the name of “kindness”.
Sorry, I’m still salty from reading all the Steve Irwin stuff.
This is correct. Cats see us as large kittens; this is why they lick us (to groom us) and bring dead things or toys to places we'll find them (teaching us how to hunt). Their meow is one of the few ways cats recognize our difference as they only meow to communicate with humans
True but I still love my cat, she’s a funny curious whiner
Why did we ever take in cats?
@speedway guy, one of many reasons their empire collapsed
@Dephenistrator, Cleopatra of Egypt was born closer to today’s present year than she was to the start of Egypt, so just give us some time.
@A Flying Panda, egypt didn't do so well right after Cleopatra. They should have banished the dámn cats.
@Dephenistrator, It actually started many, many years ago during the invention of agriculture. We suddenly had a ton of food to store and that of course brought vermin. Cats are, as your aware, lazy bastards. They followed the vermin saw that so long as they hung around the GIANT PILES OF FOOD then vermin would come to them and it would be a never ending buffet. Over time they got even lazier and now most dont even hunt and rely solely on thier human pets to feed and entertain them. A few however at least hunt for their dinner. Its actually quite fascinating the domestication of cats. They are in fact actually not that domesticated. Not like dogs are. I recommend you look it up. Quite fascinating really. They are basically wild animals that are to lazy to fight our loving affections and tolerate, even enjoy it sometimes, so long as we keep them warm and fed.
@Dephenistrator, rat deterrents.
@LaDarkProphet, I found that most indoor/outdoor cats I’ve been around hunt but just for fun, rarely eating what they catch
@LaDarkProphet, cats secretly murdered the Egyptians at every political opportunity. they didn't get lazier, they got more minion worshippers like yourself. you are weak.
@Dephenistrator, Actually more of a dog person. My two german shepherds attest to that. I like cats just fine but definitely view dogs as superior companions. I just like the history of animal husbandry.
@TheTagger, still pissed someone off it seems lol judging by the downvot.
@LaDarkProphet, i love dogs and married and inherited a cat and try so hard not to hate him and fail. I really hate cats now
@Dephenistrator, Cats are independent creatures. They know what they want and go for it. They are the frat boys and divas of the animal world im afraid. Some are absolute sweethearts and others are selfish assholes who have more demands and wants then most children! Im afraid that if you love who your married your stuck with their cat.
@LaDarkProphet, yeah i am stuck with this heavy door scratching/banging, puking, will not let me or the neighbors sleep kind if cat. We share a two floor rented house and my bros family lives upstairs. If we don't keep him locked up he attacks their cat, claws their door when they are asleep and eats the other cats food and we have to deal with angry family. If we do keep him in a room he attacks our door and meows incessantly or wakes us up often. I have had been raising a now two year old baby who usually makes less fuss than this nightmare cat that somehow doesn't phase my wife
@LaDarkProphet, sorry about the rant. I hate cats would have probably done just fine.
@Dephenistrator, lol no worries mate. Get it off your chest. Better to rant here then let it build up and have you say something to your beloved. Aint her fault what animal she falls attached to and its good that your willing to put up with it for her sake. Lot of respect for you there. I wish you luck in all your endeavors mate. Feel free to rant or bs with me anytime
Pretty sure oxytocin is the hormone that causes labor to start and lactation... so kinda weird if that's what is produced when we see dogs.
I've had my cat since he was a kitten that fit in the palm of my hand, and I'm pretty sure he thinks I'm his biological mom.
In have seen this exact same article/statement referring to elephants
