Has anybody ever heard of the Mandela effect? When a large group of people remember history differently than the vast majority, the theory being that those people inadvertently shifted into a parallel dimension at some point and history had been different. (Berenstain vs Berenstein)
I could have sworn Gene Wilder passed away at least 5 years ago. I remember being upset about it and watching Young Frankenstein.
Now I feel like I'm insane
@Whole Inn Juan, Mel Brooks isn't getting any younger either :(
@Whole Inn Juan, NO I REMEMBER IT TOO
@Whole Inn Juan, No, it happened. Some guy working at the morgue that day also watched Young Frankenstein, it gave him an idea and we got Gene back for a bit longer.
@Whole Inn Juan, i thought he died a few years ago too. But i think its just because the movie was so old i just assumed he had already died
@Whole Inn Juan, I am familiar with the concept but why is it called the Mandela effect?
@Whole Inn Juan, I think someone hoaxed it a few years back
@Gatsby, there's a large group of people who remember Nelson Mandela dying while he was in prison in the 80s instead of a few years ago.
@Whole Inn Juan, dude
@Tyrellious, that would certainly make a lot more sense than interdimensional travel!
@Gatsby, right?! I'm definitely not one of those people
@Whole Inn Juan, Like the whole Berenstein Bears vs the Berenstain Bears? I remember it being the former, but all of the new books and Internet things are the latter.
@Ajay Ghale, I'm on team berenstein too. Actually every person I've ever asked remembers it that way too. I even remember the theme song for the cartoon pronouncing it "stein"
@Whole Inn Juan, I once wasted a 1.5 hour ToK class researching this, it was the class work assigned by our teacher.
@Whole Inn Juan, I felt confused when the news said he died.
I'm pretty sure I looked up his wikipedia in the past few years, and he was already dead.
@Whole Inn Juan, I remember it being pronounced "steen." My mom was their visiting nurse maybe 6 or so years ago, so I'm sure she'd remember better than I.
@Whole Inn Juan, it's a funny effect but isn't possible to be true :(
@Whole Inn Juan, the guy who played Frankenstein in Young Frankenstein died a few years ago.. Is that it maybe?
@Whole Inn Juan, I could have sworn that Sean Connery died in like 2008 or 2010 then I found out he was alive and I felt stupif
@Ajay Ghale, I remember that song "All the other kids with the pumped up kicks better run..." from when I was a kid as a song from like the 80s or 90s and when it came out in 2010 I was super confused why it was all over the radio and no one remembered it was an old song. And when my Mom even said it was a new song I googled it and couldn't find anything pre-preg 2010.
@Whole Inn Juan, it’s crazy! I’ve read so much about the Mandela effect! I love it
I'm not sure if this is being insensitive or not. Either way, RIP Gene, man.
@FP Waiter, good lord, Bowie, Rickman, Kilmister, Prince and now Wilder? Is this the year where legends die?
@FP Waiter, sucks so much
@FP Waiter, nooooooooo!!
@Proactive Citizenry , but I'm too young to die
@crypticsteam96, oh my friend, you were never alive to begin with.
@Proactive Citizenry , thanks for laugh!
He would laugh at this so bravo
@Mendicant Bias, neigh!
It's sad how these days I get my news from memes
I'll miss your chocolate
Literally too soon!
This is honestly how i feel though. Like all these people get so sad when a celebrity dies, but how does that effect you at all? They didn't care or even know that u existed...
@butthole bread, I mean it kinda sucks when a person who you remember fondly from childhood or something dies. But it actually makes it kinda worse knowing that a large portion of people who know about the death will use it for their own personal gain. To get likes on social media. Its actually disgusting. Any grief you have does not need to be social medeized
This is insenitive. Gene wilder was a great actor and i loved watching his films. "The little b*stard shot me in the ass"-wako kid
"miss you so much you impacted my life and the lives of so many you will be truly missed and the world is now a darker place without you. Love and miss you Gene!" - Facebook freinds with downs syndrome who only saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Blazing Saddles man..
*sniff*willy wonka we get nothing...GOOD DAY SIR
@zac bagans, is his ghost gonna appear on your show?
