That’s still embarrassing on Disney’s part how much hype that put on captain phasma. She was supposed to be a badass and they even hired an actress who was tall and buff to back it up and she got treated like a joke.
@megamanx181x, they had a starwars trilogy with a disney budget, and the way the failed pretty much the whole thing is super embarrassing
@megamanx181x, and much like Boba Fett, all the really cool stuff she does only happens in side content and is never referenced in the movies.
@Marida Cruz, right?!? I thought this time they would actually show it to back it up especially since they were focusing on giving females a bigger role in the movie and this was just bad.
@megamanx181x, it would have been awesome to give phasma a better role but she kind of just was there. Her best scene was tilting her head when threatened with going down the trash compactor.
Honestly, rogue one did a FAR better job with female lead role than any of the sequel films did. I might be bias though, that has been my favorite disney starwars so far
@Dephenistrator, rogue one is a better movie then the entire new trilogy. That had drama, suspense, and great characters that didn’t have a legacy to live up to.
@megamanx181x, and the darth vadar scene at the end was such a nice added bonus. I don't think i ever cheered so much while rebels died before but fúck it, vadar is badass!
@Dephenistrator, it sealed the ending, I heard originally it wasn’t in the movie but wow what an amazing two minutes
@megamanx181x, holy crap, I'm so glad they kept it in!
@megamanx181x, I was genuinely hyped for her. She even had a personal connection to Finn that could have made for interesting conflict in TLJ. But hey, at least we get Space Las Vegas and hobo Benicio Del Toro lecturing us on war profiteering.
@SimonPetrikov, an entire plot point that movie could have done without. Overall this trilogy was mediocre and it only takes one movie out of the three to drop the momentum of the story. I blame Disney for not building an entire trilogy story before they started filming it. I really liked the actors and actresses and the potential of the characters they were playing but overall they didn’t leave an impact with me.
@megamanx181x, i think the biggest injustice was squandering Harrison Ford, Mark Hammill, and Carrie Fisher. Even if they reboot it later, the time to use those characters all together is over.
@SimonPetrikov, Don't remind me of Canto Bight. That entire sequence is heresy to my eyes, ear and my analytical brain.
@Dangerous Dan Spivey, oh without a doubt that’s the core thing they missed is trying to pass the torch properly from the old cast to the new one. Mark hamill was expressing so much frustration after TLJ that luke, leia, should have been there when Han Solo died.
@SimonPetrikov, that part of the movie killed any hope for TLJ for me. But you could make that whole thing so much better. Hammer into the war profiteering, make the reason Fin and Rose get arrested because Fin losses it overhearing some guys laughing about selling kids to be storm troopers. Could have been a great moment of character development for Fin
@Marida Cruz, At least with Fett you had something there in the movie. A dude so ruthless that Vader singles him out to tell him not to go overboard, and then he actually has the balls to speak back to Vader. Sure, he did so in a professional manner, but everyone else is so terrified of Vader killing them that they basically cower before him when speaking. Then you get to the carbonite chamber. "he's no good to ME dead". Not only did he interrupt Vader, he did so out of his own interest, and Vader capitulates saying the Empire will compensate him for it. Fett is is more badass outside the movies, but it's clear in Episode V that he's not to be fvcked with. Phasma doesn't have that in the movies.
@Gamasennin, Phasma has just as much talk in the movies as Boba Fett does, but they're both all talk, because the moment the action starts they go down like a sack of potatoes.
@megamanx181x, Rian Johnson is a bigger nazi than Walt himself
@megamanx181x, I completely agree with you!!!!
@SimonPetrikov, my first thought when seeing those stupid horses again was, yeah you finally made use of those stupid little space horses
@Ze Grammar Nazi, Samwise: TATORS! *Spins*
There's a canon novel that says that this guy and the dying stormtrooper Finn tried to help in 7 were both in the same squad as him, which really only serves to make him cooler.
It's a situation of show not tell. This stormtrooper actually fought like a bad ass. Also when do you see a normal stormtrooper do cool stuff? He stood out. Mean while it was mostly dialogue and cheating death over and over for plasma.
He gets more development than she does in that time.
I know this trooper has a cannon unit code, but to me he will always be TR-8R
So I'm not a massive fan, but that mf was awesome.
The directors and writers should never do another movie again..
To be fair, that storm trooper practically got more screen time than Captain Phasma
You guys make it sound like any Star Wars ever was good. Trash trilogies each and every one.
