Hell, there are sections in stores dedicated to just RWBY in Japan!
Honestly, it doesn't fvcking matter. Same with The Last Airbender. A good show is a good show.
@Weird Porn Stash, but not as good as the last Airbender movie, amiright
*Prepares for berrage of downvotes*
We will not grant you the death you wish for.
You still have a purpose in this life.
@Weird Porn Stash, hear, hear! 🍻
@Lord Wivern, I have been spared
@Duncan5769, just kidding *hits with wrench*
@eleven, and I would deserve it
@Duncan5769, yeeeeeah I'm not Bout to give you what you want *doesn't pivoted or downvote*
@Weird Porn Stash, this arguement the picture makes kinda irritates me. If the first cell phone was made in the US, but then samsung comes along and makes a cell phone, is it not a cell phone for being made somewhere else?
That doesn’t look like Cory in the House
@FP Waiter, turn up the brightness, you'll see it.
@FP Waiter, Cory in the house isn't the only anime, just the best one
I don't watch anime, is that RWBY?
@The Puppet Man, yes that is Ruby rose from RWBY
I count it as anime. I don't have a great way of explaining it but I think anime doesn't have to be explicitly made in Japan if it uses anime elements I think that can be enough
@Bigm222, to me its
Anime=Teen and up
@Dexios S Divine, So Family Guy, South Park, and Rick and Morty are all animes by that definition
@TriangleTesticles, well anime is just short for animation, so why not.
@Bigm222, it's all cartoons anyway
A true anime is made in Japan. Otherwise it's a (insert country of creation) anime.
@Nudity Industries, or we just make it simple and say anything in the style of anime is just anime... because you know why the fvck should it matter
They went the way of code lyoko
My personal opinion on this is if you market something as an anime, it's an anime regardless of who made it. That makes RWBY and anime. It was intended to be an anime, and therefore it is. Avatar on the other hand was marketed as a cartoon and despite the style should be a cartoon. It may be anime inspired but I would argue that it is a cartoon because that's the audience it was marketed to. You don't need to be Japanese to make an anime but if you call it a cartoon and market it as such it's a cartoon. That's just my take on it
RWBY's actually done quite well in Japan. It was well received, they've got some exclusive behind the scenes stuff, the manga is made there...
I'm not sure if they're just being nice and they see it as the slightly retarded cousin of anime, but hey, you take what you get, right?
It's on crunchyroll and it's animated so it's an anime to me
I just call it American anime.
Used to be into RWBY. But the issue I have is with so many seasons they still have not given a proper explanation of the powers, dust, and bullish!t magic to any satisfactory extent. The story is kinda bland, killed off the only interesting villain, and the world of Remnant is far more interesting than the actual story. Also, the episode lengths are so in insistent you could get a 12 minute episode one week, and a 5 minute one the next two. If you wanna be an anime, at least try to be as long as one.
@Emeraldst, I want to clarify I meant the setting not the stupid World of Remnant bollocks. They never gave any useful information and were a pain to have to sit through.
@Emeraldst, so you hate it because there's magic?
@Langenator, I do t hate it. I'm just tired of not have anything explained with how far the story has gotten.
@Emeraldst, It has been explained. Auras and Semblances are a manifestation of souls and all of the magic is fueled by Dust, a highly energized crystal that is refined into ammunition
That's more explanation than most fantasy shows give on their magic
@Langenator, does that mean its personality based? Do people of different families end up with similar powers exist if so or are they purely unique to everyone else and there are only a small pool of existing semblances in the world? What if two families of powerful semblances married? Would the child get one or the other or would they combine into a new one? Dust is Dust, I'm talking about the magical Maidens, Ruby's deus ex machina eyes, Cinder's weird Grimm based magic, and Ozpin's forceful insertion into the body of some farm kid. My questions are fair to ask at this point, and most should have been already.
Semblances are unique to each person (except for the Schnee family)
Only huntsmen and huntresses can use their aura, so it's impossible to tell what a civilians semblance is. So theoretically there could be multiple people with similar semblances.
Cinder doesn't have Grimm-magic. Her semblance lets her control volcanic glass
Ruby's deus ex machina eyes and Ozpin's mind transfer haven't been answered because they are still mysteries to the characters themselves.
This is why I hate the anime fans. A good show is good and a bad show is bad. I hear people complain about being out of good animes to watch and just watching trash animes anyways. There are good shows that happen to not be cartoons from Japan, but people will pass them by for no good reason.
But anime is a cartoon.
Guys these people in my ark server just destroyed my base, this is pve and they dropped Dino's into my base which killed everything
