I realized something years ago. If you want somebody to watch a movie and react properly, have them watch it alone. There’s a good chance that if you watch it with them, they are going to appreciate your company more than they are going to appreciate the movie’s plot and they will talk through it and not give it the attention it deserves.
@Jakespeare, You sir, are a good man.
@Jakespeare, So you're telling me people appreciate my company? Nah man, I don't buy it. Gotta be something else.
@satan of the north, why else would they be there? Why would they watch a movie with you? And follow up point, they’d pay a lot more attention to the movie if you weren’t more interesting than it. I’m sure you’re awesome like that! Give yourself more credit
Had this happen to me once, told myself never again will I set myself up for heartache like this. I dont even recommend movies anymore, unless someone asks me straight up, "hey is _____ any good?"
@fitizen, Hey, is back door sluts 9 any good?
I always make an effort to at least react to whatever my friends want to show me, even if I'm not particularly interested in it, because I know what it feels like to show someone something you really like and have it met with complete indifference :')
Or they keep asking questions that'll spoil key parts of the movie
Some people are just bad movie watchers. When I go I turn my phone off and get pissed when people go in and out the doors.
This is an important life lesson, but a rather unpleasant one.
