Male freindships are gay af if its not you arent truly friends
@Joseph The Broseph, the truth has been spoken young one, seriously though if you aren’t acting gay or saying gay stuff you ain’t truly friends
@Joseph The Broseph, if everyone doesn’t assume your best friend is fvcking you then you’re not best friends
@BigJohnson86, right if his GF or wife doesn’t cause you two of having sec you’re not as close as you think
@DrSin, my best friends girlfriend has had to have multiple talks with him about how much time he spends with me lol. I encite more by pointing out I'm able to spend the night at his house and she isnt even though they've been together 2 years because he has a super conservative stepdad. We also work together and I've known him 14 years... I think the best explanation for this relationship is Daniel sloss's the comedian (he has two specials that are super dark and funny on Netflix). Basically, he points out to his girlfriend who is upset by his relationship with his best friend that theyve been through the shjtiest and best times but still is there and as close as they are. I would certainly trust my friend of 14 years more than a girlfriend of 1 or 2. I do also like his girlfriend as a friend, shes been very good for him and to him
@DrSin, I know right I mean one time me and my best friend got hammered talked about our failed relationships and then fücked but that’s just cause we’re such good friends it’s not gay
@Cousteau, it’s always fun to have that kind of friendship and hone in on how stupid you can be together but yeah she is absolutely jealous of you
@sgc6610, it’s not gay if you guys said no homo
When has a feminist ever said this. Theyre more concerned with women and emasculating men than to give men positive role models.
That actually isn't how gay relationships are.
It's more like "hey you're hot"
"Oh wow so are you"
"K let's fck"
@Tentastic, yeaaaaaaaahhhh, no, not really, that's not it chief
Imo, it was pretty blatant they should've been. Most of the actors agree, and it would've been solid representation for gay people. But then again that makes it hard to sell the movie in China, and Disney is only socially progressive when it makes them money, so of course it didn't happen.
@Rtas Vadum, I feel like most companies dont care about gay representation they just want ppl to think they do so that they make more money from theme
@Wakeley, exactly, most companies do it to try and get free PR. This has also contributed to the rise of people who call ANY gay relationships in media "forced diversity" and "pandering". It's ironically caused far more damage to the LGBT crowd than not including them has.
@Rtas Vadum, plus if you need fictional characters to be gay to feel good about yourself you have problems
@Rtas Vadum, I don’t think it was “blatant”. It seemed like Finn and Rey were gonna end up together. Why can’t guys be friends without fangirls wishing for gay undertones.
@Snarfel Burger, yah it definitely felt more like Rey and Finn, in my opinion
@Rtas Vadum, yeah not sure why ryan didnt. The oppertunity was there anyone who wasnt an sjw already stopped watching. No one wouldve cared. Its actrually kind of vexing.
@Rtas Vadum, rumors are that JJ Abrams and the actors wanted them to be gay but Disney said no
@K1l, I wouldn't be surprised. They have one lesbian kiss in the background of one of the last scenes, and they still edited it out of the release in several countries.
@Wakeley, I don't need them to feel good about myself. I just think it'd be nice to see them happen more often as though it's a normal thing. At the moment, the few cases of same-sex couples are either really blatant stereotypes that are entirely played for the comedy value of "look at the gay person doing the gay thing", or 20-year-old lesbians, never any normal relationships involving two dudes. It's like how there are a lot of movies where fat gingers are played for comedy because they're fat gingers, but also plenty of movies where fat gingers are also just normal characters that happen to be both fat and ginger. From what I've seen, most gay characters never get the latter, it's always exploited for either sex appeal via lesbians, or comedy via stereotype. Makes me worry, since every time it's come up that I'm dating a guy, I /always/ get the reaction of "oh, you don't sound/act/look gay!"
@Rtas Vadum, so you feel like you need approval from other people and that movie characters are gonna change that?
@Wakeley, I don't need approval so much as I'd like to see non-straight relationships as just... relationships. Like how seeing somebody who's a different race won't even warrant a second glance in most of the country.
@Rtas Vadum, but a corporate company doesnt care about that they just want you to think that they do so that you support them and give them money based only on them acting like they care
@Rtas Vadum, It’s not blatant. Finn had a thing for Rey basically the minute they met.
@K1l, Cus China doesn’t like gay people and China is the biggest market.
@Weird Porn Stash, yeah pretty much.
!!MAJOR TROS SPOILERS!!
Also rumored that since China doesn’t like showing ghosts in films, they originally had that force ghost scene filmed with the actors standing around Rey, but they changed it to appeal to China.
@Rtas Vadum, shut up gaywad
@K1l, I could believe it. Hollywood likes to act all progressive and caring but they really just spread their cheeks and let china fvck them bloody.
@Rtas Vadum, i was convinced that they were going to be a couple. And honestly it wouldve been pretty fluid in the context, it wouldnt have forced either. I never shipped them but i wouldve been happy to see that turn out as true
@Wakeley, I'm sorry but, from what you just said about gay representation clearly show that you are straight and don't understand why gay representation is important. (would love to be wrong)
But the thing is, people look to fictional characters, specially children and when they see something that they identify with it helps them feel better about themselves. If a child can see gay representation it validates that what they are feeling is normal and nothing to be ashamed of. It also helps normalize to those who are in fact homophobic that these people are still people and their love is valid. if we can have all of these straight romances what is the problem with having gay ones, they are love, just like any heterosexual relationship. Gay representation is INCREDIBLY important and helps to normalize it in real life, much like I'm sure you like seeing hero's with similar attributes to you, so do those who are LGBTQ+.
@Butthurt Commenter, Woah dude, he's having a pretty civil discussion about the characters, there is no need to call anyone that, let alone insinuating that being gay is bad.
@Rtas Vadum, it’s not just China though, it’s all the homophobic fan boys and old dudes that run the company.
@Snarfel Burger, as a bisexual man, why cant I look for gay undertones in my media for fun :(
@Ginga Bishounen, I didn’t say you couldn’t, it’s a free country. I think it’s dumb though, but that’s just my opinion. You could always just watch movies with gay relationships and stop trying to put them in movies when they aren’t there.
@Orlandude, being gay is bad. Bunch of gaywads running around. I say we put them all on an island and let them starve to death.
*laughs in anime and manga where apparently any two men who make eye contact are gay*
They added those girls in episode 9 to “ungay” Finn and Poe. “See everyone they like GIRLS!”
Chewie and Han weren't enough?
Personally I would have preferred it to the wishy-washy thing they ended up going with in the end.
Oscar Isaac really wanted that man kiss
