@megamanx181x, no I think it's football
@Twatasaurusrex, *Me, hiding my ball gown* There’s been a misunderstanding...
Literally every wealthy athlete doesn’t deserve a penny of what they have.
@Chifilo, they play a few games a year and get paid millions teachers whose job it is to educate the next generation for most of the year get paid as little as they can get away with because throwing a ball is far more important than getting the education that is almost required to go anywheres that isn’t hard labor
@Chifilo, I agree that athletes are way overpayed, but they work hard and it's not their fault. It's the fans that pay to watch them play a game and to wear a jersey with their favorite player's name and number on it
@eleven, yes. Teachers have one of the most important jobs and should get paid more but when teachers have the same viewership ratings and sell out stadiums, they can makes millions too.
@Coozination, that sounds nice and all but who's gonna pay them? Sports ball owners make a lot of revenue, and are able to pay their players, because of the fans "need" to buy sports memorabilia and live show attendance, plus NBC, Fox, and CBS pay the sports leagues so they can broadcast they're games, and then all that ad revenue.
@Coozination, sanitation workers important jobs.
@Chifilo, it’s society’s fault. Same with actors or anyone famous. It’s perfectly fine to make a career out of something you are good at. But the fact that we as a society elevate famous people to god-like status means big corporations can capitalize on their success and entertainment value and thus we have the current circumstances. Same with universities. They run on money. If the football program is bringing in money, yeah they’re gonna do what the can to get players regardless of how unfair it is. It’s all about that mullah. Not good. Not how it should be. But when society deems certain entertaining skills to be marketable, the industry is gonna capitalize on that. The only way it would change would be if everyone in the world decided to start treating celebrities like normal people. Sorry rant over. I’m sure you knew all that already
@Pervy Sage Jiraiya, that was my point. The reasons you listed are why teachers don’t get paid what athletes do.
It's because they have abs. Anyone mad about it probably shows up to class in hungover in pajama pants. Presentation goes a long way boys.
It’s because they make the school a fvck ton of money so that the people who actually go to college for a degree have cheaper tuition and less debt.
