Teach none of the important stuff but here’s the Pythagorean theorem and mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell
School teaches you how to use critical thinking and teaches you to learn. If you can't figure out how to use your resources to find the answers to the adult questions, then you should have paid more attention in school.
@Sr5turbo, that's what school is supposed to do, but that's not necessarily what it does, as much of modern schooling is heavily focused on memorization rather than critical thinking, with very little accommodation for anyone who learns in any way other than the way the teachers teach. Couple that with the fact that students nowadays are crammed into classrooms like sardines in a can, and the fact that teachers salaries haven't gone up in some states in over a decade, and you can see why maybe the education system isn't quite doing that well.
@Sr5turbo, most of those questions in the top frame can be solved with a quick Google search anyway. Your fault if you don't look them up.
@Sr5turbo, I agree with Waifu, school didn’t teach me any of my critical thinking or how to learn. It tried, and failed, to teach me how to memorize things. The only things I remember are from teachers who actually went above and beyond and not just tried to teach us, but treated us as people. Not as adults or children, but as thinking people.
And with learning disabilities, I was left behind quite a lot. But that’s not because I was a dumb child who couldn’t get it, but I was a very smart child who understood things too easily. I grew bored and stopped paying attention. My high school records showed a strong pattern of never doing homework but nailing tests.
It’s not a system for teaching, it’s a system for training. Obedience and memorization. “Don’t use that method, use this one otherwise it’s wrong. Yes it’s the same answer, and it’s correctly done, but it’s the wrong method.” And if you’re smart it hates you, if you’re not average it also hates you.
people who say shjt like this tend to be dumb as bricks
@Tony123c, hey I say this but I am smarter than a brick even a cinder block sometimes!
Honestly it should be all the subjects but should add a civics like class to teach about filling taxes and teaching about mortgages or other life things that people would normally do.
Taxes are easy.
Driving is easy.
Don't break the law and you won't be in court.
Marriage is a scam.
Use Indeed. And dress appropriately for your interview.
You should never defend yourself in court, even people who practice law don't do that.
@Unoriginal, a man who represents himself has a fool for a lawyer.
when i was in high school we had multiple classes where you filled out basic tax forms. Im only 24 so its not like it was that long ago. Its on me that i completely forgot what im supposed to do
@dr brain, my school had on the job training and driver courses. I guess it's just a Florida thing...
“... also, boys have periods, some girls have penises, white people are evil, women are actually god in meat form, orange man bad, islam/sharia, history is racist, science is white supremacist, America was never great, US was founded by immigrants, ...............”
Western Edu, destroying minds and families for over half a century.
@Cave Dweller, I like how you casually threw in two things that are actually true to make it seem like they're incorrect.
@Your Waifu, all things listed, and many not listed for brevity and avoidance of censorship, are ridiculous on its face and insanity to enforce. Comment, in its entirety, stands as-is.
@Cave Dweller, but the US really was founded by immigrants, and as controversial as some people might find it, Trump really is bad at his job.
@Your Waifu, an incorrect assertion and a woefully spiteful opinion. Noted. Be well.
@Cave Dweller, neither spiteful nor incorrect. Not agreeing with facts doesn't make them stop being facts. "Be well."
@Your Waifu, neither were “facts,” Karen. Be well.
@Cave Dweller, using slander definitely makes your argument stronger and isn't at all petty. "Be well."
@Your Waifu, *Tucker laugh* Ok.
@Cave Dweller, wow, using the same exact shallow comments on two seperately arguments that you started both of. Well played. I'm in awe of you're genious. "Be well."
Would you like to know more?
I'm still to use mitochondria in any real life situation... Thanks school!
School is like EA... you get the bare bones basic at first. If you want anything good, you're going to have to pay. And pay. And pay. And pay pay pay pay pay...
