Sig over glock any day
The U.S Army is replacing the Beretta M9 with the Sig Sauer P320 on a 580 million dollar contract. Just giving some context.
@jayne cobb, RIP m9
You were a sexy gun
@jayne cobb, glock is being replaced too isn't it? I
@Gersian, Not too sure. The army down selected it between Glock and Sig, but ultimately chose Sig for the contract. Apparently they are buying 280,000 P320s right now and about 7,000 sub-compact versions. I honestly don't know too much about it. I just looked it up after seeing this lol.
@jayne cobb, Texas state troopers just moved to it as well it's a nice gun shot it myself
@jayne cobb, and Flock got VERY upset and took to air their frustrations through the media
@Gersian, seals are supposedly replacing their sigs with glock
@Gersian, According to most of the media, all handguns used in any kind of newsworthy shooting are a Glock, aren't they? And everything else is an AR-15.
@Gersian, Glocks were never standard issue in the military.
@Nellybert , that was the joke but I didn't make it obvious enough, sorry guys you can all go home
@Gersian, Sorry, my bad, I get it now. 👍🏻
@Nellybert , tbh you are the only one who got it 😎✌️
@NotTARGET, I believe that Gersian was making a joke about the way that mainstream media seem to identify every handgun as a Glock (or a 'Glock-type' gun, whatever that is).
@Gersian, Put it down to my being English, so having an odd sense of humour to start with. 😋
@jayne cobb, I love my tax dollars.
@Nellybert , no, they're just "automatic handguns". If it's a .45 or something, it's a "high caliber automatic handgun".
The media is fücking clueless.
@jayne cobb, it's been years since the M9 has been a service pistol, I thought they were using the gen 4 glock, hence the image being a gen 4 glock.
@ Seductive Cheeto, I don't know too much about it. What I read was that the M9 was being retired after 30 years and the P320 is replacing it. And apparently Glock is pissed about the decision and are planning to dispute it ( seriously wonder how much good that will do them).
@Nellybert , Wtf no, AR's are rarely used in shootings. Its mostly shjtty handguns like hi-points and old service revolvers. No one is gonna buy a quality handgun or AR unless they're gun enthusiasts, it's mostly "ghetto blasters" that are used cause of their cheapness and availability.
@jayne cobb, ah okay, the flock is a great gun and relatively cheap, but are usually single stack. Maybe they're looking for double stacked handguns, and Sig Sauer is known for their durability and accuracy, if I had to pick though I'd go with CZ. I have a CZ 75 and after over 2000 rounds through it it still works like a charm, and now I've started shooting 70 yards with it for shjts and giggles, and I'm averaging 6/14 to hitting the target so not too bad.
@ Seductive Cheeto, Sorry, my point was that the mainstream media's starting point is to refer to all firearms as a 'Glock type' or 'AR-15 type' gun, not that those are actually what's used.
@jayne cobb, is the Sig a quality gun? I'm just curious because I always like it when our men and women are well equipped
@shake n blake, I honestly don't know that much about guns in general, but I imagine that they are since the army chose them over Glock, Beretta, and FN America for the contract.
@jayne cobb, we(coast guard) went to the sig p229 back in 2010- I miss the 9
*niche comment about guns that no one understands but gets top
@CrazyManInaBox, *Generic comment that gets misinterpreted as being about gun control and unleashes all hell on the comments section, cementing your position as top comment, because everyone is too busy diving for cover to vote for anything else*
@Nellybert , typical comment asking if anyone else in the community likes guns
@Shud b doin homework, *inevitable comment calling you a redneck/fascist/bleeding heart liberal (delete as applicable)*

So I'm a fan of guns and what not but I don't exactly keep up to date on anything. Would someone mind explaining?
@Vesrox, I was typing my comment as you posted. Check my other comment out for context.
@jayne cobb, thank-you
Being on point means something different in combat

Can't wait to share this at work but the gun behind the Glock should have been the APX
Im just waiting on the flood of m9s making them hella cheap
@CapnDuckyFuzz, I have seen it start happening already, they haven't reached the mythical 50-100 bucks a pop but I have seen ones as low as 250.
Canada over here still using the good ol´ Browning Hi Power
@Dr Mr Moseby Phd, enjoy that hammer bite.
