Whenever I see people labelled as "transgender" I get confused as to which way around it is
@Loadsamoney, well sometimes they would say what they are. There's FTM (female to male) and MTF (male to female). If someone identifies as a Trans Man, it means they were born a female, and now identifies as a male. (Vise versa)
@Nasasuki, one thing that gets me tho, if you really wana be a man, then why not call yourself just a man. Why does trans have to be tacked onto the front
@IdeasAreHard, Well they do do that, but from what I know they only say that when people are asking. (I'm not trans, so I can't really speak up for their community) I have learned that if you don't know if they are a male or female. You can just ask what pronouns they go by. I know it's kinda weird to ask that but a lot of people would appreciate it. There are also people that don't identify as he/him or she/her. There people that uses they/them pronouns.
@IdeasAreHard, I feel like some people like to do it for attention and look special, I'm not saying they all do it but some people just want to be special from everybody else
@IdeasAreHard, I don't know for sure, but I believe that it's because 'normal' people tend to get super pissed and act like they got tricked when they find out later. So maybe they announce it to avoid that trash pit of a conversation later on?
@Mad Moxxi, This^
@Nasasuki, Fvck, you're a man or a woman, not neither, not both, not an apache attack helicopter, you're a woman or a man. And I'll call you one of the two. If you have a problem, fight me.
@Loadsamoney, wow I've never had both top comments before. This is the best moment of my life
@Nasasuki, bur they/them is plural... so nooooooooo! I wont be incorrect grammatically just to please someone when i call everyone dude/guy/bro/man
@That Bear over there, hey I didn't make this up, I'm just saying what I know
@Nasasuki, yea I totally understand l... wasn't trying to target you it just happened that you were the one to say it. (Person or some other general noun seems more appropriate than "them"... makes me think they have a personality disorder LOL)
@Loadsamoney, the best thing to do is not care about it I think. If you treat people based on how nice they are they cant call you out on being discriminatory. In Scotland we have a large equality movement but part is "gender balancing" meaning committees should be split male and female based on population of both in Scotland. That's absurd because they should be trying to invest in education so people are all equally educated and can be accepted for jobs regardless of sex, as gender balancing will mean some people will be at a disadvantage because only so many places are available due to gender. Then people complain about transphobia which has less to do with there trans but rather that most trans are in the poor end due to the previous hate they received. Now it's just about educating everyone, not garaunteeing the outcome of life
@As a matter of fact, that's something I feel quite strongly about. Often, a woman might be hired over a man or a black person over a white person for the sake of "diversity" which is just unfair to the other. These things should be based solely on merit. For example, I am an aspiring pilot and am looking for a scholarship scheme with an airline, but there are so many more "women's' scholarships" for flying than regular ones, because of a lack of female pilots, that I feel it would be so much easier to get hired if I were a woman.
@As a matter of fact, THANK YOU
There's a reason most sports are divided by sex... Good luck to a girl trying to beat a mens' lifting record.
@Liquid Stuff, but... But tumblr.... Sports and restrooms are the downfall of tumblr
@Liquid Stuff, Trans women on estrogen become physically weaker, trans men on testosterone become physically stronger.
@Ruupasya, I know this comment is a year old but I can't freaking believe nobody called you out on this...regardless of whatever artificial hormones a person might be taking to "level the playing field" men are still naturally stronger and more athletic due to certain body structures that cannot be surgically or hormonally changed. The shoulders, for example, men have a naturally wider clavicle and a different shoulder/chest to waist ratio that gives them much more leverage and power when striking, so of course a trans fighter is going to destroy a natural female. And yes I realize that there are a LOT of very strong and athletic women out there (especially MMA fighters) who could probably kick my a$$ because they devote their life to being strong and athletic enough to do so, but when you compare them to men who do the same there's no competition.
I guess this would depend on how far they're transgendered and for how long. I could see how this could get blown out of proportions pretty quickly
@TheWhiteWolf, in this case i would say not very far or very long...
This really shouldn't be allowed. Not because there's anything wrong with being a trans, but because the hormone differences from an entire life time would make it unfair. Guy going girl, then fighting girls will have a significant unfair advantage. Denser bones, longer arms, thicker skin, stronger muscles. This doesnt go away when you transition.
@JuicyButtSweat, Trans women on estrogen become physically weaker, trans men on testosterone become physically stronger. The physical size (bone length, height, etc.) won't change. Bone density, skin texture, and muscle size does change based on hormone levels.
@Ruupasya, growing up as a male with male hormones for 20-30 years gives you a distinct bone structure. Muscle changes. Bones don't. Your body grows to follow your hormones. Unless you get a degenerative disease, bones don't change. That alone already makes it unfair
@JuicyButtSweat, bone structure does not change, you're right. Bone density does. Yes, it might be unfair, but it's nowhere nearly as unfair as people make it out to be.
@Ruupasya, except that this person is also working out and undertaking physical activity which will encourage the body to produce testosterone. And also the muscular change that occurs doesn't happen overnight and takes time. It's also easily worked around.
@The Informant, 0.o
In high school we had a girl on our football, but you know what? They would never in a million years let a boy play on a girls sports team.
@RonaldUlyssesSwanson, actually, we allowed boys to play volleyball with what was otherwise an all girls team. They just had to play in the back
I have nipples, Greg. Can you milk me?
@correction, how about an almond?
@correction, you tried to milk him falker you sick son of a bitch!
Did they really expect anything else?
I was gonna comment on this but people cant have an opinion on the matter anymore
@Ripblade01, as a straight middle class white male, I believe you may be right.
@Bronemba, as a cis white male my opinion is inherently worth less
Yet my sex and gender professor argued with my class that other than reproductive differences there are none between men and women. K.
Nature, y'know, finds a way; of kicking that girl's behind.
@PeanutButterPopsicle, well that professor is clearly ignoring some pretty major facts. Men, on average, are naturally physically stronger than women. Denying that is just lying to yourself
@PeanutButterPopsicle, did you bring up testosterone and estrogen levels?
@Michael Fassbender, She was like 88 or something and I figured there would be no point. A girl in the class did argue that there are many biological differences.
@Loadsamoney, Yeah, my thoughts exactly. Another student ended up arguing the points I would have made.
@PeanutButterPopsicle, challenge her to an arm wrestling competition and if she 88 find some guy that's also 88.
@PeanutButterPopsicle, physical differences like the chromosomes in practically every single cell in the body - except the sex cells, which are completely different.
Well...what did you expect?
Girl to guy? Or vice versa ?
Man or woman I wouldn't fvck with it.
I'm not against any kind of sexual orientation, but i may get hate from this anyway. I feel sad for Transgender people, because i think it's a form of self mutilation. Why can't they be gay or something without making enormous changes to their body? Maybe I'm looking at it the wrong way, but it always makes me sad to this.
@Dephenistrator, ive seen some pretty hot trans for both sides, really it just them doing whatever with their body. I couldnt care less if they do it or not lol but in the sense of sports and other things where men are better than women and vice versa, i feel like they shouldnt compete. Men & women are different in a lot of ways, it could be unfair
@Dephenistrator, Well, sexual orientation and gender identity are separate entities. Your sexual orientation indicates who you go to bed with, but gender identity is who you go to bed as. Hormones, surgeries, etc. are just a way to make your body more accurately reflect who you are on the inside.
@Dephenistrator, there's a difference between mutilation and surgery
@Dephenistrator, I'm a trans person (female to male), ask me anything. I feel like a guy. I've always felt like a guy, I just didn't know the words for it. I'm attracted to people of all sexes/genders. I'm not particularly masculine, I have long hair, my favorite color is purple, I like nail polish (though I don't use it much for obvious reasons). But since I've started transitioning, I've actually, for the first time in my entire life, started to recognize myself in the mirror. There's nothing sad about it.
I find it interesting that Gender Dysmorphia is the only disorder people will support having
When you cut it off and block male hormones and replace it with female hormones ,. You'll become a female mentally and physically .. Just like they are strong men beat up other men.. They actually did research on her .. Proving that she is weaker than a men but equal balance as a female.. But what do I know I'm a man in a dress with boobs lol
@misztrannymarie, and that's why in 2013 she had five straight first round knockouts
@MOBEAR, I have seen woman beat up men .. Lots of training ..
@misztrannymarie, but this is someone with most of the fully developed parts of a man beating up women
@MOBEAR, last time I check she cut it off .. She no longer produce testosterone.. .. Again what do I know I'm just another transgender woman .. A freak of nature lol
@misztrannymarie, Jesus I'm not the one calling trans people freaks I'm saying the fact that one of her opponents said she had never felt that level of strength in her entire career means something
@MOBEAR, we just having a conversation lol sorry if I sounded rude
there are girls who can kick my ass out there...so...
Why is there down votes... 😑 Did Tumblr finally find out about this app?
Go off of their DNA!
Good use of this meme *not bad face*
Didn't Futurama tackle this issue already? #rip coilette
If you want to change there is an operation
Sounds like a bad porno
Ok I get theirs male, female and trans, and genderfluid which basically means you choose whatever gender fits you at the moment, but I heard their are like 25 different category, how the hell does that work.
@BlazingBowman, basically there's 3-4 choices. Man, woman, and non-binary. There are two main types of binary - people who don't feel like a man or a woman (which is either agender (most common) or third gender (common in some countries)) and people who feel like some combination of both, which branches off into a lot of sub-branches.
It's like religion. There are three Abrahamic religions, but even just Christianity is split into hundreds of different sects.
You can be anything that you want! All you have to do is identify! For example, I identify as wealthy. My -$5,000 net worth is to be envied!
