Never decide a relationship based on horniness. That's stupid and pretty much how insects determine their relationships.
There is no part of this that actually provides a loophole to any LDS doctrines and will definitely still count.
@Empshok, correct. In the words of one of my previous pastors- "it is less the act and more the intention that counts. If you think you found a loophole, it still counts because you are INTENDING to commit such an act and you think you've outsmarted the system. You can't outsmart the Lord."
@REAPEROFSOULS1179, imagine trying to outsmart a billion year old omniscient being
@Pat Myckok, *Sebastian the crab voice* teenagers
@flippity flip floops, you changed what you wrote...why?
Religion's taboo against sex is probably why we have hundreds of thousands of cases of priests sexually abusing children.
Fact: Texas' abstainance-only approach to sex education has resulted in the state having the highest number of REPEAT teen pregnancies.
@Tekkromancer, It feels similar to the Jedi Order preventing students from learning about the dark side, resulting in them being easily swayed towards it.
@Tekkromancer, sure but I think a large part of it is churchs hold positions of power and so do those that work for them. Bad people are often attracted to positions of power especially when there are few qualifications required.
I dont think not being allowed to marry caused them to be pedos.
@Runnin with scissors, you are not wrong. However, imposing abstainance on someone is against human nature. And my hypothesis is that the Wholly Fable doesn't actually forbid sex with young boys. Women, young girls (unless they are slaves), and adult men, yes. But nothing specifically against sex with young boys, ergo a loophole that the church turns a blind eye to and covers up.
@Tekkromancer, strongly disagree. There is no loophole that makes religious institutions cover it up. They cover up all manner of crimes for the same reasons that politicians, business execs and public figures do.
And abstinence doesn't breed pedophilia. @runnin with scissors is right. Power, low barriers, and opportunity provide the perfect cover for pedos. Thus they are often in education systems with the least barriers to entry. Camps, after-school, school adjacent services, churches, etc. Any place that allows people in without too much complications, allows quick access to a constant supply of victims, promotes and fosters the predator's perceived power and control, while also limiting long term consequences for offenders.
@SirLoveday, Of course other institutions cover things up for any number of reasons.
What I'm pointing out is the outright hypocrisy of the church, which purports to be moral and "good".
If they really had the moral high ground, they wouldn't stand for this sort of abuse and suffering. Ever. The fact that they allow this to happen over and over speaks volumes.
For an organization that is so dedicated to following the rules in their scriptures, molesting and raping little boys must not be against those rules.
Blasphemers and non-believers will be damned, but pedophile priests? No problem. Just another Sunday.
Did we really need to see this one a second time?
@I Are Lebo, here, show us on this doll, where did religion hurt you?
@Block1187, *gestures at the world*
It still counts as sexual intercourse. Imagine if this kind of idiotic logic extended outside of their religion: "Oh no officer, I didn't have sex with that child, I just stuck my d!ck in them and held it there." Whoever is trying to think up these "loopholes" and spread them around needs a smack upside the head with a stop sign.
If it’s in a hole, it’s sex and you’re going to hell.
@Nurse Joy, Rather go to hell anyway. Heaven for the climate but Hell has waaay better company amirite?
Imagine being stuck with a bunch of stuck up religious snobs for the rest of eternity? Doing nothing but playing fing bingo and braiding Jesus hair for all eternity?
Fing ngl. Christian heaven sounds boring asf. Just eternal peace and happiness? Fvck that noise. Rather go to hell out of boredom. Now the Norse had a waaay better idealized version of Heaven in the form of Valhalla. Endless drinking, eating, fighting and fvcking. Thats my kind of afterlife lol.
If you don’t sin, Jesus died for nothing -some guy probably
Soaking isn’t real. It’s just a meme.
Those poor horny mormons.
