Hockey players are tougher than soccer players by a mile
*Obligatory LeBron joke*
As a hockey fan, it was still damn impressive.
@Aperture Employee, that's the dude who was resuscitated during a game, right!"?
@Felix the Bear, Nope, that was Rich Peverly of the Dallas Stars, this looks to be maybe Sean Couturier of the Philadelphia Flyers.
@Aperture Employee, so he probably got into a pretty awesome fight.
@Aperture Employee, it may be impressive, but only because it happened to a flyer. GO PENS!
@Aperture Employee, honestly it was awful. He was kicked upside the face. Broken nose is really an understatement
@Aperture Employee, as a hockey player, I can say this is 100% true
@Goalplr07, same here. I got cross checked from behind and broke my collar bone. I pushed myself up from the ice with that arm and played another few shifts before I had to leave.
@Zodiac308, go caps go
@Goalplr07, been there. Broken my leg in a game... Skated off the ice.
@Durfus130, I play goalie and I had a shot dislocate my shoulder half way through the game. Played the rest of the game not being able to move my glove arm
@Aperture Employee, it's Ian Laperriere. Those uniforms were worn before Couturier was drafted. Born and raised flyers fan.
@slippery nipple, Oh really? Cool, thanks for correcting me! I was just guessing based off of the visible 4 on his arm.
@Aperture Employee, Ian Laperrier.
Just curious, why do people only pick on soccer? Like, we never said we were tough or anything, yet people act like we walk around saying we're the manliest of men and all that. Respect all athletes.
@Teh Internet, ever seen a Lebrun joke?
@AlaskanBu11Worm, that's from basketball fans though. I'm talking about true haters. Plus about the sport, not a player.
@Teh Internet, most players exaggerate an injury just so they could get a penalty shot. Not all players though! That's the reason I hate on soccer, idk about the rest of the world...
@pizza y moi, that's a really stupid reason to hate a sport. I'm assuming you hate on basketball as well then? They flop so much they get fined when it's obvious
@JuhJuhJuhJimmy, I was a soccer player. Soccer was my life in high school, so I guess it's not the only reason I hate the sport now. But it's a big one
@pizza y moi, now you're just starting to confuse me
@JuhJuhJuhJimmy, the conclusion is pizza dammit
@JuhJuhJuhJimmy, I hate on basketball just as much as soccer. Players of those sports fake injuries to get penalties. It's weak and pathetic. I've always loved hockey (and similar sports, such as rugby) and had serious respect for the players due to their desire to keep playing in spite of real, damaging injuries. You will never see a pitiful, weak, did honoring flop in a game of rugby or hockey. That takes guts and brawn. They get my respect.
@Teh Internet, soccer is the worlds most popular sport. That means that there are even more haters of that sport. Besides the World Cup only happens every 4 years and that is when you can see in HD a player trip and fall over his own shoelace and get a free kick out of it.
@Firmest Midget, the only reason I am going to say that football should be included is not because of the nfl, but the younger kids, I just went to my little brothers football game today and a kid shattered his arm mid-play and ran for the touchdown
How bout that one guy who died during the hockey game, was revived, then asked to keep playing
@Kim Jong Nam,
@Midnight City, RANGERS!!! Lol they're playing each other right now
What gets picked on in football is the dives, some football players are tough
Sadly I broke a kids noes last weekend and he cried like a bitch so hats off to you two!

@Raven1313, hey, nice to see you back!
@Kim Jong Nam, Yeah but I will npt be back for long. I am leaving for Europe on the 3rd of July, and I am comming back the 22nd.
Also Steven Stamkos
as a Canadian, it was still damn impressive
I'm a fan of both sports. And Dempsey had cotton shoved up his nose to stop the bleeding, which made it hard for him to breathe, and still hauled ass when he needed to.
You don't purposefully head the puck, though. Clint Dempsey is a beast for not only playing with a broken nose, but also for continuing to use his head.
@TheRealDonDraper, he got kicked in the face too didn't he
@new username 1, he did. That's how he broke his nose in the first place. Whether he got kicked afterwards, I don't recall.
@TheRealDonDraper, okay your first comment made it seem like a header-gone-wrong
Didn't Johnny Wilkinson play in the rugby World Cup with a broken shoulder?? And he won the game
Plus Dempsey has no pads
Google Patrice Bergeron, and try again, soccer player.
Fact - soccer sucks and the players are sissies.
@Captain Cockmonster, you spelled opinion wrong
@Cmnder Shepard, by all means explain all the flopping and fake injuries.
Wth does a broke nose have to do with kick a ball!? I mean if you were cuncussed from the broke nose it would be one thing, but come on!!!!
@stigmaoftherose, A lot of your balance comes from within your nose. Along with that, any amount of pain is going to affect your game, no matter where it is on the body.
@Codalicious, makes sense thanks for the explanation, I thought balance was only an ear thing, I've never broken my nose...
@stigmaoftherose, i have, i don't reccomend it.
@stigmaoftherose, a broken nose isn't a big deal, I had one in a fight.. You bleed a lot, but it's no big deal. Try playing hockey with a broken jaw..
@stigmaoftherose, you've never had a broken nose have you... Well it makes you feel light headed and it hurts like hell. It would hurt so much to run because of the broken bone bouncing around up there
Soccer is pathetic
@Daynste, haha cool man!
@Daynste, you're pathetic.
@Daynste, I guarantee you wouldn't last a game out there with them
@Daynste, why don't you get out there and try to play with them, i guarantee they'd make you look like a parapalegic sloth.
So much butthurt over nothing
Still more impressed with Greg Campbell for playing on a broken leg for about a minute
You want him to injure himself some more?
